Chapter 19

"A-amelia !" her mother almost cried and hugged her. "What- how-........" "Mother wait let me explain.. please." Amelia said. "Go on" Her mother replied with welled up eyes. " I was held hostage by a group of theives. they wanted the pearl. At first i gave it to them. but then when the house was on fire i found it and ran away. iam here and safe now mother." Amelia lied. She had no choice but to lie for the safety of Jack. "Well at least you are not hurt." Her mother replied,

That evening every one was filled with joy. "Amelia is back and safe !!" they would cheer. But someone who was not supposed to be there was invited. James. After the diner Amelia walked outside to gaze at the stars. "Missing him ?" James asked, walking towards her. "Why do you care. you are the one that left in the first place." Amelia replied.

"Ok Amelia i always wanted to tell you this. You are a very beautiful woman. Any man would be lucky to have you. i guess i blew up and have to keep looking." He said sighing. "Thank you. but before this all happened, i really liked you. Guess you fiance is very happy" Amelia smiled. "I cancelled the wedding." James replied

"What !? Why ?" she asked puzzeled. "Amelia, from the day i got engaged, i always used to think, who loves me more and would be proper for me, You or Celia. After you were gone i thought it was Celia but i was wrong. It was you."

"Oh James" Amelia smiled. "Iam flattered. thank you. Is Celia ok with this." "Yes she is fine with it. She always knew i loved you." Then Amelia's mother came by "Amelia i.." she stopped and looked at James. "Sorry i will come back in a better time." She apologized "No its ok. What is it Mother. ?"  "Leave it dear." She smiled.

"Soooo .. what are your plans now on ?" James asked her. "I dont know. I guess i have to do it like how jack said. Forget about the past and keep moving on." Amelia sighed. "That's what i said to my self" James replied. "Well iam sorry Amelia to be rude but i must go now. Have a good night." James smiled and Kissed her on the cheek. "Good night James" Amelia smiled.

Amelia was getting ready for bed. She looked around her room. it is good to be back home. Some one knocked the door. "Come in" Her mother came in with a smile. "Hello dear" she smiled. and sat at the side of her bed. "I am so glad you are back home" Amelia smiled "I saw you and James in the balcony. It was nice to see you two together. Not to spoil anything but he was engaged to another girl. But he cancelled saying he felt guilty for you."

"Yes i know. He told me." Amelia smiled. "So would you like to be together again ?" her mother asked expecting her to say yes. "Iam sorry Mother. Just give me some time to settle. Then i will give you my answer." Amelia replied holding back her tears. "Yes dear iam sorry." Her mother replied. He got up and left Amelia after wishing a good night.

It was then Amelia finally Burst into tears. He missed her Jack so much. The pain she was holding was too hard. She finally slept, wishing that Jack's strong arms held her firmly.
