~Adrianna's P.O.V~

I looked at the reflection in the mirror. The same auburn hair, the rosey cheeks with freckles that could barely be seen and my dimples a bit visible even thought I didn't smile. But something had changed. My eyes. They had a glow in them, not the same tired hazel eyes anymore. I wondered what the reason was but didn't find anything reasonable. Unstead I lowered my vision down to my outfit. A white crop top with black high wasted jeans. To go with that, I had my white converse on. And since it wasn't summer anymore and more chilly outside I had on a black bomber jacket.

It was Monday morning and the sun was shining brightly. The first day that I met my tutor aka Kai's mother. Mrs. Jade had given me directions to the house the other day. I had found out that Kai lived in the spoiled 'rich' area which made him more annoying.

In my bag I had a few pencils and pens, peice of papers and a book about english grammar. I was heading to Kai's house from the bus station humming on a lullaby my dad used to sing me to sleep with, when suddenly I heard footsteps from behind me and someone joined my humming. I turned around to find Kai smiling down at me with his hands stuffed in his hands.

'Hey, what are you doing here?' I asked, confused. How did he know this lullaby?  My dad had always said to me that it was only him and my mom who knew it, since it was my mother who came up with it. Huh, weird. Maybe I heard wrong, or maybe he was singing a similar one. I decided to let it go, it would probably just sound bizzarre if I would randomly ask stuff like that.

'Uhm just taking a walk, how about you?' He answered shrugging his shoulders.

'Well, going to your house for our tutoring. But I'm pretty unsure about this area so can you please show me the way... if you don't mind?'

'Yeah sure, I'm on my way there.'

I mumbled a small thanks and watched him as he approached me to take me to his place. I started turning right when he suddenly grabbed my hand and dragged me against him. I ended up slamed against his broad chest because of his sudden strength. My cheeks flushed and my eyes widened, I guess he didn't really expect that it would end up like this. Shoot. I hastily turned around and started heading straight. Well, right was definitly the wrong way since Kai acted like that. Gosh couldn't he just tell me?

I heard Kai running to catch up with me after several minutes. I didn't, couldn't look at him so I ignored his eyes that looked at me ever so often.

We stopped at a light blue house and I followed Kai up the porch steps. I thought to knock and mentally shook my head as Kai just marched in.

'Adrianna's here!' he shouted out into the seemingly empty house.

A lady in golden blonde hair and blue eyes appeared in front of them. She smiled nicely and behind her a man with blonde hair and pale green eyes came around as well, placing a hand on the women's shoulder.

'You are very welcome here. You can call me Katherine.'

I shook her hand and introduced myself as well and at the same time saw that Katherine was wearing a pair of jeans and an old pink shirt. I would have thought that she would have liked to show off their richness with jewlreys and clothes that famous designers made but I didn't find a single jewlrey on her except for a necklace that could barely be seen.

The man came in the front as well and said,

'I'm Kai's father. You can call me Ethan. Excuse me but I have to go to work now so you won't see me so often.'

'Oh, that's fine. I'm Adrianna.' I repeated the greeting I had introduced myself to Katherine.

Ethan left the house for work and Katherine led us down to the basment where Kai had said she usually tutored people. There were two desks in the center of the basement and a whiteboard was placed in front of them. Behind them a couch had been moved against the the pastel blue wall. Right beside the whiteboard there was a big table that I think was meant for Katherine. I sat down on one of the wooden desks and examined the paper Katherine had handed me. It was a pre-test so that she could know how much I knew.

Kai was done before me and it annoyed me once more with the thought that he might be smarter than me. I didn't usually care if someone was smarter than me but the thought that Kai was better than me was very annoying.

After we were both done Katherine excused herself for 30 minutes so she could check our papers. When she left it was just the two of us and the silence between us made it pretty awkward.

'So. What happened before.. uhm I'm sorry I didn't really intend to.. uhm --'

'Oh it's not your fault, just an accident so no need to apologize.' I quickly interrupted Kai and shrugged. He seemed pretty nervous, so I just helped him a bit.

'Good, so tell me about yourself Adrianna'

'Uhm, would you like to start? I don't really know what to say..'

'Sure, I'm interested in fireworks, bombs and "scary" stuff like that. Well I don't really find them scary but just fun to mess around with, but most people do.'

'Uh-huh. I'm pretty scared of fire.. eh because I ehh... had an accident when I was a little girl..'

'Oh, I'm sorry! What happe--' Kyle got interrupted by his mothers call from upstairs.
