Chapter 1

~ Adrianna's P.O.V ~

I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My auburn  brown hair was stuck in a messy ponytail and my hazel eyes looked tired. I hadn't been able to sleep well these two nights because of those weird nightmares I'd been having. It was the same dream every night, me in some big forest surrounded by complete darkness. But the darkness wasn't the peaceful kind, it was more.. dark.

I mentally shook my head, darkness couldn't be darker than it already was. I took one last look at my outfit and hair before heading downstairs to eat breakfast. It had been two weeks since I got kicked out of the orphanage. I was still 16 years old but somehow, I managed to get a job at some resturant. It was very tiring. Working from 4 in the afternoon till 10 in the evening and attending school was not as easy as I first thought. When I thought about it now, I missed the orphanage and my friends there. But then again, I'd always hated being controlled of the bosses there. And now, when I could finally descide what to do alone, it felt so good yet so unusual. 

I nodded my head in greeting to Mrs. Jade who was the owner of the resteraunt I was currently working at. She had wavy golden hair that was gorgeous and grey blue eyes. Mrs. Jade had been very kind to me and had let me sleep and eat in her house. I now had a room in the attic and I was very grateful to her.

After eating a simple breakfast consisting of one bowl of porridge and an apple I said farewell to Mrs. Jade and started heading out to take the bus to school. As always, I almost missed the bus because of my slow morning routine. After going on the bus and finding a window seat I started watching as the city passed by me.

I closed my eyes and an image of me being kicked out of the orphanage flashed inside my head. 

They had flund me out the door to the orphanage and spat on me. I was confused and didn't exactly know what was going on.

'I haven't done anything wrong!' I had cried out in despair

'GET AWAY FROM US YOU LITTLE WITCH AND NEVER COME BACK!' the mistress had skreaked at me and  had slammed the door in my face. 

Tears streaking down my face, I had crawled up on the side of the street and had cried until no more tears came out. After that I had just roamed around until I had met Mrs. Jade. She had asked what my name was and I answered,

'Adrianna, miss.'

'How old are you my dear?' she had asked worriedly

'16.' 

Mrs. Jade had then informed me that she had a spot in her resteraunt that I could work in and if I did accept then she would provide me with a room, food and even some money. I hadn't hesitated a bit and had accepted the job and had thanked her continuosuly. 

I jumped in my seat as the bus halted to a stop. People started filling the bus and soon it was very crowded that I got very hot. I was glad that the stop after was mine and started to stand up.

Honestly, my favorite part of the day was the bus ride. Why? Well, at my job I had to work and at school I had to study. I didn't even have any friends, all of the students in school seemed to see me as an alien. Nobody paid much attention to me but when someones eyes landed on me, they immediately looked away as if I would burn them. 

The school building started showing up and when the bus stopped many students went off. Including me.
