~Adrianna's P.O.V~

Three days passed and I was getting tired of waiting for Kai to text me. Maybe he really didn't know my number.

'Dumbass.' I snorted out and covered myself with a blanket too lazy to get out of bed.

A knock sounded at my door and I groaned as I sat up and walked over to the door.

When I opened the door Mrs. Jade stormed inside. I could tell she was angry at something and I guessed it was something about the resteraunt.

I guessed right as Mrs. Jade started talking,

'More than half of my workers have quit! I don't get it, I mean I gave them more than enough of money and treated them better than any owner in town! What am I going to do now? I haven't opened the returaunt yet but I can't stall any longer but what if the food and serving takes too long? Soon we'll be getting complaints and then....'

She was on the verge of crying and I knew that Mrs. Jade hardly ever cried.

'Don't talk like that! I can help you with the resteraunt. You know that I'm better than any of the staff there.' I smiled hoping to lift the pressure off Mrs. Jade's shoulder. Her usually neat golden hair was tied in a messy bun and it made me sad.

She looked at me with warm loving eyes.

'I would apreciate it but don't you have studying to do?'

I shook my head and sighed,

'Kai's mother had some things to take care of but he told me that when she got back he would contact me.'

Mrs. Jade nodded and stood up, looking into the mirror on the door she made sure that her make up wasn't smudged and held out her hand for me to take it.

'Come.'

I took her hand and smiled. Her hand was always warm to hold, but fragile. It made me wonder how she could cook and serve so fast with these kinde of hands.

As we went down the hallway we passed Mrs. Jade's room. The usually closed door was now slightly open and I could see inside the room I've never stepped foot in. I tried to look in without her noticing me, so I just kind of tilted my head to the side and started to scratch the back of my head so that it doesn't look suspicious. What I saw from the corner of my eye made me freeze in my tracks.

'What are you doing? The resteraunt is just about to open we don't have time to slack Adrianna.'

'I-I suddenly remembered that I forgot to unplug my hair straightener. Can I go back to my room really quick and unplug it?'

'Oh, of coure. It's good that you remembered, I always knew that you're responsible.'

This was of course an excuse to go back to get another glimpse of the room once again. I went back to my room, plugged and then unplugged the hair  straightener (which I hadn't used this morning) to make my lie seem real. But when I slowly went down the hallway again, Mrs. Jade's room's door was now closed.

** Mrs. Jade P.O.V ** (BAM BAM BAM)

Adrianna lied to me. For the first time ever. My brother's daughter lied to me for the first time ever. Her father didn't teach her to lie, so why had she done it now? I knew that it was a lie because her hair wasn't straightened today. It was wavy from the braid that she slept in.

~Adrianna's P.O.V~

I served and took orders. I counted money and gave receipts. And not ever did I think about Kai and his newfound power. Okay that was a big lie. I thought about it every single minute for 4 hours. From the start of my shift until the lunch break. And when Mrs. Jade gave me a salad to eat on my break I knew exactly what to do.

I looked around myself to make sure that there aren't no people nearby. Clear. Good, now all I have to do is think about water, right? That's what Kai said that he did. I tried. One time. Two times. Five times. But right when I was about to give up and head back to the resteraunt, I saw it. It's like the content of a glass of water was now floating a few inches above my open hand. But it dissappeared just as it appeared because I lost concentration right when I saw it. I tried again, and this time it was easier because I knew exactly what to think about. And just as I wanted to try to make it bigger, I heard someone applauding behind me. Shit, did someone see this?

'What did I tell you Adrianna? I knew we could do something super natural.' Kai.

I turned around to face him.

'How did you know that I was here?'

'Hm, I dont know. A feeling?' He said smirking.

'Huh?'

'No, I'm joking. I just like this place, because it's always empty of people.'

'Oh, yeah me too.'

'So, how did it feel? When you saw the water sphere.' He asked me, half smiling.

I looked away from his distracting deep blue eyes that always caught my attention. And when I looked back at him again to answer his gaze was fixed on my face. I cleared my throat and he quickly glanced away.

'I'm confused. Kai, there has to be a deeper meaning to this than what we know.'

'I don't think so, but maybe.' He answered me while looking down at his shoes.

'Yeah, my break is almost over. I have to go.'

'Wait Adrianna, your eyes are still blue.'

'Shit, but I have to go back!'

'I'll walk you back, and if they aren't brown again by the time we are there then you have to wait outside.' He offered me while holding his hand out for me to take. I nodded my head but ignored his outstretched hand.

By the time we came to the resteraunt my eyes had gone back to their original brown color and Kai and I had seperated a few blocks before.
