~Adrianna's P.O.V~
I was taking a break from work as were all the other staff. We were getting ready to open up for the dinner time; the busiest time of the day. The time of day everyone was worried about. The morning and lunch time had gone smoothly but the dinner time was when the most people came. We only had one chef, a few waiters, Mrs. Jade and I. I helped with both the cooking and serving but even if all the staff worked double speed it wouldn't be easy.
If only we had one more chef..
Just then a familiar looking blonde haired boy came in through the door and after giving me a wink he headed towards Mrs. Jade. They talked and I caught a few words which made my face harden.
He wanted to help with the resteraunt. I was about to shout out that we didn't need his help when I saw Mrs. Jade face fill with relief. Even if I disliked him, if it made Mrs. Jadde happy to have a person that helped then I would go with it. I sighed and walked over to them.
Kai greeted me and I nodded in return.
'So, you want to help around here?' I asked
Kai nodded and asked,
'Can you show me around? Mrs. Jade told me that you would help me the first day.'
'The first day?' I scrunched my eyebrows together
'Yes dear, he is happy to help until we figure something out.' Mrs. Jade smiled, a smile I hadn't seen for a long time. I smiled warmly back. I saw the pressure lift from her shoulders and I would do anything to help her get out of that pressure.
I beckoned for him to follow me into the kitchen.
'Are you good at cooking?' I asked
Kai smirked which made my heart flutter for no apparent reason.
'I'm actually very good at it.' he gave me one of his charming smiles and I smiled back, but only for a short moment.
I showed him where all the ingredients were and then handed him a piece of paper.
'What's this?' he asked
'The recipes for the food that's on the menu. It's not so hard but not easy either, call me if you need help.
'I won't need help. Trust me.'
Kai looked really confident, I wanted to make a rude remark but I just rolled my eyes at him. I introduced him to the one other chef in the kitchen. Kai immediately started a small conversation so I left them and found Mrs. Jade.
'How's he doing?' she asked
'Fine. He seems to be adapting annoyingly well.'
She nodded smiling. Mrs. Jade looked so relaxed, I smiled back.
'You look really happy. It's nice seeing you smiling like this. I haven't seen you like this for awhile and I was starting to worry.'
Mrs. Jade cocked her head the side and looked at me. She observed my face and sighed.
'You've changed from a little girl to a matured young lady. I'm so proud.' Her eyes became clouded with tears.
I got embarrassed and looked around to see if anyone was taking in on this situation. I calmed her down and went into the kitchen as a group of people came in filling the cozy resteraunt with loud voices.
Seeing Kai slicing vegetables and stirring soup, my heart fluttered and I smiled automatically. It was so fascinating seeing another side of him. I shook my head. What am I talking about?
He caught me looking, I blushed and went back to work. I loaded plates with the ordered food and served them to the right table. I forgot about Kai because I was too busy to think.

All the customers had left the resteraunt and the meager number of staff had gone home for the day including Mrs. Jade. So it was up to Kai and I to 'clean up' the resteraunt. It was going to take a little while because there were a lot of dishes to wash and we had to clean the floors and tables.
I was in a bad mood cause Kai insisted on doing all the work. Did he think I didn't have any pride? Well, he was wrong. I turned down his offering of doing the dishes for me and told him to just swap the floors and clean the tables.
'Adrianna?' I heard Kai calling me so I went out of the kitchen.
I covered my mouth and tried to hide the fact that I was on the verge of laughing. Kai had stacked all of the plates together (there were like 20 plates) and was holding them in both of his hands.
'Put it down at once!' I exclaimed
He smirked and answered,
'You don't think I'll make it to the kitchen?'
I shook my head,
'I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about the plates. It's not like we can afford everything.'
As I said that he put them down very carefully on the table and grabbed half of the stack and walked towards the kitchen with care.
Shaking my head I took the rest and headed towards the kitchen as well when I heard the the resteraunts door open.
'We're closed for the-'
I lost my words as I saw a familiar face walk in.
He smiled and said,
'We've met before, haven't we?
