As Rin entered my office, his heavy breathing and obnoxious muttering filled my quiet office. My quiet office without a single sound produced in sight; excluding the footsteps every once in awhile. The obnoxious muttering meant only one thing; Rin and Haru weren't on good terms. I saw how lifeless the shark boy looked; maybe lifeless wasn't the word, maybe broken. He was a lost boy, stuck in a broken world, full of rejection. The only person who could fix him was really the one creating such pain. Actually, no. It's that ditsy Mimi girl. Haru was just obvious, it's the only way he protects himself from hurt. Both boys were struggling more than they realised. Two broken souls, trapped within a small world of pain. You can't chase pain and fear away; it chases you. Just like Rin's dreams. You can run and hide, but they'll always find you.

" Joe, please can you stop staring at me like I'm some lost cause" Rin stuttered from the other side of the room. Politely I nodded and walked over to the boy. We both took a seat. Rin looked up at me with fear.

Hot tears streamed his face, he shook and screamed to himself.

He was having one of the dreams.

Rin's dream (pov)

"Hello Rin, we meet again" the shadowy figure snickered and pinched the boy's cheeks" I was frozen, and vulnerable to the touch. The shadowy figure was drifting along the ground near my feet, only staring at me. " have you finally realised?" This sparked my attention. " realised what?" The figure only chuckled and sighed. " what?" But the shadowy figure just moved away. I tried running towards it, but every step I took, every movement the figure got further and further away. Suddenly it stopped and stood like a human. It was transforming, the figure soon became Mimi. Not Haru, but Mimi. " don't you see, I'm trying to keep you away from him! I know he wants you! But I can't let that happen!" Mimi screamed, making the dream world shake. She had tears streaming down her face, " I just want him to l-l-love me" she spoke quietly. As much as I wanted to just reply with a snarky comment, I just said: " I know...but he doesn't love me...I'm his best friend, he loves me in the brother sort of way, I'm friend-zoned by him". The figure of Mimi looked directly at me. " We're not the only ones who want Haru".

"What!!" I scream and fall off the cushioned chair of Joe's office. Everything was spiralling, why was Mimi trying to communicate to me. Who is the other person? Was this the person who beat up Joe? No. She's lying.

"Hey Rin, settle petal; let's talk".

Joe listened intensively, without even a flinch, even when his phone went off. About an hour after explaining I had finally calmed down and Joe was making me some tea. " lemon grass or Rose?" How fancy of Joe, " Rose tea is fine thanks" he nodded and started brewing the tea. Before the room went too quiet, I decided to ask about the other person. " hey Joe, you know about the other person who likes Haru?" Joe froze, hot tea pouring into his hand, making him jump back with a hiss of pain. I ran over and quickly helped him, the burn was going to be serious but he seemed to be fine after we ran his hand under some of my cold water from my water bottle.
Now, that we both had our tea, I decided to ask again. " so, do you know?" Joe looked confused, " know what?". He was playing the clueless card. " do you know who likes Haru?" He chuckled " Mimi and you, of course, ya dork" but I didn't laugh. He knew exactly what I was talking about. " no, the other person" he stopped laughing and sighed. He knew the answer, I could tell. " what did you mean by someone else...I don't recall someone else". " drop the act, Joe, just tell me". He sighed once again and collected the cups without a word. " Oi, I asked you a question!" But Joe just kept cleaning the used cups. This was aggregating me, so I bolted over to him and turned him around making him drop the cup, letting it shatter all over the ground. " I~ I'm sorry" Joe shook his head and walked over to the dustpan. He still wasn't answering me, which was quite annoying. " Rin, are you sure you want to know who it is?" Joe finally said, facing his back to me. I nodded, even if he couldn't see me but I knew he could by the quietness. " you remember how I said I liked that nurse?" I nodded and gasped " is it her!!" But Joe just chuckled. " have you touched Haru's lips? Because I have and it's bloody amazing" no, this can't be happening. " I like him Rin, but I won't get in the way, but warning I don't know how long I can hold back till I want to feel his lips again; the nurse was okay, but nothing like Haru". Why was Joe kissing Haru? He had to be lying, just pulling my leg. He was pure insane, incompetent. " alright enough joking, who likes Haru?" But Joe looked confused; " I said me, I've always found that boy insanely attractive" he was starting to anger me, not just anger but hair pulling and punching mad. However, I looked over at his team sheet hung up on the wall. It was plain black and white, but one name was highlighted with small red penned hearts next to it.
'Haru Nanase'. This dïckhead wasn't lying, he liked my Haru. MY HARU! I grabbed onto the chair tightly behind me, I needed to prevent myself from violence, especially my coach and friend. I mustn't let anger consume me. "w-what was it like to kiss Haru?" I asked shakingly but maintained my steady posture. "Pretty great, however, I just gave him CPR, but that was enough to feel those nice soft lips of his" Joe thought this was funny. I'm currently standing here broken and scared, and he makes stories up about kissing my best friend. " I'm leaving, you're just making this worse". I need to move back to Australia and get away from these crazy people. Quickly, I ran towards the door and left Joe behind. It was as though the world caught up with me, making me trip over every essence of pain, I could deal with. Yet, I couldn't deal with it. Am I having nightmares while awake now? Just splendid. I guess at that point I couldn't move my legs and I broke into fits of tears 400m away from Joe's office. Joe easily caught up to me, and stood behind me sighing. " can you p^ss off already Joe!" I screamed but it was relatively weak. Joe then took out his phone, " this is for your own good" this startled me. " What do you mean?"; but Joe remained quiet still: " Hey Haru, It's Joe--yeah he's with me---oh that would be wonderful come on down" and he hung up. " alright you mess, Haru is on his way" but why? "I don't want to be around Haru" Joe just scoffed; " Sure hun".
