Am I the only one I know?
'Who is he?' I asked myself as I saw an unfamiliar figure walk through the door. His head was covered with a hood attached to a rare jacket that I've only seen less than ten times -- a skeleton hoodie.
Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat.
Josh has that hoodie.
Shadows will scream that I'm alone.
My eyes followed this figure as he made his way towards Ms. Hudgekins' desk. She smiled and greeted him, as though she already knew him. I only saw him nod, unable to catch a clear view of his face since his back faced us. After a short conversation, Ms. Hudgekins' eyes met mine. Her smile did not, even once, even slightly, fade as she pointed to the empty seat next to me.
But I know, we've made it this far...
This... I could already tell. This is going to be an interesting school year.
Kid.
