I woke up to the gentle tapping of rain against my window, covering the gentle sunlight behind the raindrops.

I lay there for a while just listening to the soothing rain, before my mum called me down. I traipsed down the winding staircase, still tired from the flight.

"Abbey, this is our new neighbour. Jack." My mother smiled.

"Pleasure to meet you, Abbey." He said in a charming British accent.

"You too, Jack." I smiled politely. He was attractive to say the least.

Jack's skin was very slightly tanned and his hair was pushed back effortlessly. He had a full jaw and plump rosy lips, contrasting beautifully with his green orbs. His eyes were a dark green with small flecks of honey and hazel if you payed enough attention.

He started shifting around awkwardly.

"Oh god, sorry!" I mumbled, my cheeks burning up more by the second. Brilliant, Abbey. You've known him all of two minutes and you've already creeped him out.

"It's fine..." He chuckled, looking down. His smile was adorable yet breathtaking.

"Well, I have to meet my new boss so I'll be off. Love you." My mum said with a small wave, closing the door behind her.

"So you're Australian then?" He grinned.

"Good guess." I chuckled, although my accent made it obvious.

"Can I ask you some stuff? You can ask me stuff too! I just wanna know you." He tried to say in the least creepy way possible.

"Sure, one minute." I replied. I had just remembered I had just woken up, therefore I probably look like The Hobbit.

I ran up the stairs this time, throwing on some black skinny jeans and the smiley face shirt Luke had let me have when I left. I loved this shirt. I brushed my hair and teeth, not bothering with makeup. I guess I'll have to shower when Jack leaves.

"Why is your shirt so big?" Jack asked when I reached the bottom of the stairs.

"A friend back in Australia gave it to me when I left because I love it. He's significantly taller than me." I chuckled, earning a small laugh from Jack.

"You can sit down." I smiled, patting the space on the sofa beside me.

"Thanks, can I ask now?" He grinned eagerly.

"Go for it."

"Okay..full name. I'm starting with basics." Jack smiled.

"Abbey Rose Brown." I told him.

"Beautiful, Who was the one that gave you the shirt?" He asked, all the things in the world and he asked that. I felt my stomach churn.

"His name was Luke, Luke Hemmings. He was one of my closest friends." I whispered, already missing him after a day and a half. I was dreading the year already.

"Oh shit, s-sorry!" He stammered.

"Can I?" He asked, opening his arms for a hug. I nodded in reply and leaned forwards into his chest as a few tears escaped.

"Shh, its okay Ab." He whispered, arms tight around my chest.

"Are you okay now?" He asked with a twinge of concern in his voice.

"Yeah, thanks. Sorry you had to see that; I just miss them all." I smiled forcefully.

"I'm sorry. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I'll be here to listen." He offered.

"No its fine, it'll be good to get it off my chest." I spent a whole hour and a half telling Jack how I met Luke and the others, and he listening all the way through. Jack was one of those people that had an aurora surrounding him that just radiated happiness and trust. It was impossible to not like him.
