It's the first day of school for Ashton, Michael, Calum, and Luke.(Or: Ashton is forced to watch over Michael, Michael is stupid, Calum is possessive, and Luke is a good boy) (ash is 10, the rest are 8)

Luke walked to school with a little bounce in his step, holding onto Jack's hand with a firm grip. It was the first day of school today, meaning that he got to see his friends again. He had woken up extra early in all his excitement, jumping out of bed and onto his brothers. They were now nearing the school, and Luke could already hear all the kids. Upon entering the school, Luke immediately spotted his friend Michael, who was being dropped off by his mom. Michael saw Luke and waved at him, only to be scolded by his mother who had asked him about five times now whether he had all his things or not. When they reached the gates, Jack bent down and gave Luke a smile.

"You gonna be okay, kid?" he asked. Luke nodded hurriedly. He could see Ashton and Calum now and he was just itching to get to them. Jack laughed, "Okay, Luke. Have a good day at school." Luke barely gave a nod before letting go of Jack's hand and running over to his friends. The last he saw Ashton was about a month ago in July, since Ashton had to go out of town for a family vacation. And he had just seen Calum about a week ago when they had a sleepover. From behind the two, Luke could see Michael, who was running over to them.

"Hey, guys!" Michael greeted them. The three other boys gave back a cheery greeting of their own, all of them equally happy to see each other. Luke then noticed Michael's new backpack and gasped.

"Woah! Cool backpack!" Luke exclaimed. Michael smiled proudly and took his backpack off to show it to them. It was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack, featuring all Ninja Turtles in a cool action pose. Calum responded to being shown the backpack by imitating Donatello's pose and putting on a serious face. Ashton laughed at him and shook his head. "So, how was your guys' summer?" Ashton asked. Michael slipped his backpack on again and rolled his eyes.

"Why are you even asking?" Michael asked. "We all practically spent half the summer together." Calum nodded in agreement and Ashton frowned.

"Oh," he mumbled. "Yeah, you're right." They all stood there in an awkward silence before Luke cut it, jumping up and down in excitement.

"Oh, oh, I saw a cat this morning!" Luke announced. The other three boys looked at him with smiles on their faces. Michael looked especially interested, while Ashton inwardly cringed, but pretended to be happy for Luke's sake. Luke then went on to add, "But it was dead..." Calum made a face at that.

"Ew," was all he said before resting his head on Luke's shoulder. Luke turned a little red, but didn't say anything about it. Ashton had to stifle his giggle. He then asked, "Luke, how'd you know it was dead?" He felt a little worried that Luke had seen such a disturbing thing. Also, he had to ask that question since he knew Michael might ask something stupid about it. Probably a question about if it's guts were coming out or something.
