~Vincent's POV~

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm never getting out of here.

At least, not alive.

I don't know what part of my mind believed that, but whatever part of it did, it had certainly lost all hope.

I pulled at my restraints, scowling. They didn't want to snap. Besides, even if they had, what use would it do? If I broke out of here they'd have me dead the moment I stepped out the door. It was useless. Completely useless.

A long time passed with me in the darkness, pondering my downfall. Eventually the door finally creaked open. I looked up.

I couldn't see who stepped in, for the lighting was still horribly dark, but I heard the door close and the tapping of shoes on the floor growing closer.

"Hmm. Well, I guess it's about time someone finally got around to you, don't you think?"

"What do you want!?" I yelled, automatically trying to lunge for the person who'd spoken. It was useless, however. The restraints on my wrists held me back.

They chuckled.

"A uh, friend of mine says you're quite fearful of your fate, huh? Pathetic." I hadn't been able to decide at first because of my racing thoughts, but I was sure now; the voice was definitely feminine.

"What do you people want with me anyways?" I growled.

"Oh, you know... Just your death." She shot back.

"Why don't you just kill me already?"

"That'd take all the fun out of it, don't you think?" She purred, chuckling. The tapping of shoes filled the silence once more, getting closer.

"Look, just let me go. I won't interfere with anyone else here ever again, I swear!"

She just laughed as if it was was the funniest thing in the world.

"Wow, you really are pathetic. Hmm. Though, since you are quite desperate, I might at least give you a fighting chance."

I seemed to sit up straighter at this, but most of my mind was screaming it was definitely a trap.

"How?"

"Look, we can go into details later, but if you at least want a chance, I can give you one."

It took me a while, but finally I stuttered, "N-No." I could've sworn that, even in the darkness, I could've seen her scowl at this. But I just couldn't risk it. It was probably a trap; just another game to see how much I could suffer in a short amount of time.

"Huh. Well, have it your way. If you ever want that chance though, you'll probably see me around a few more times before your slow painful death, so just ask." She turned and walked away, and I just closed my eyes until I heard the door slam and was sure she was gone.

I didn't know what was gonna happen in here, but all I knew was that I had to survive. All I knew was that I had to get out of here.

But most importantly, I knew I had to get back to (Y/N) in one piece.
