~Vincent's POV~

I looked over, recognizing the voice as the surely feminine one that'd entered the room not that long ago. The one who'd offered me that suspicious fighting chance.

She was grinning a bit as she pulled her hand away from me. "But, you know what, go on. I won't stop you."

I jerked away, stumbling out into the cold as I stared back at her. For the first time, in the little light the moon outside provided, I looked down and saw my purple clothes torn and bloodstained. I scowled as I looked back up at her.

"What's the catch?" I growled.

"There is none." she said blankly, staring back and crossing her arms. "Just go."

I just stared for a long moment, then finally nodded and turned. The air was cold but it wasn't nearly enough to stop me from leaving.

"Oh, and did I mention we have a dog...?" she added with a snicker as I was walking. I kind of stopped and looked at her.

She slammed the screen door, laughing as she watched. I looked back over my shoulder and sure enough found found a black and gold canine pushing its way out of the bushes that seemed to line the garden. Upon realizing it didn't recognize me, it immediately started growling. I turned and quickly ran back to the door, banging on it wildly. She just smiled.

"You little liar! I swear I'll-" I was cut off as I looked up at the sound of quick paw steps filling the silence. I turned and shot off as I had instincts that wouldn't let me just stand there, but the vicious thing caught up. It sunk its teeth into my leg and that was all it took for me to trip.

I groaned when I hit the ground, but quickly recovered and pushed myself up. I was face to face with the darned thing now, its cold eyes meeting mine. It was definitely a creature that could cause some damage if it wanted to, and that thought didn't help my current state.

It snapped and snarled one last time before there was a loud, "Heel, boy!" Then it just twitched its ear at that command and trotted off. I looked up. The girl again.

"I hate everyone on this property right now, you know that?" I growled, pushing myself up barely.

"Yeah, kinda got that memo when I first saw you. You're the kind of person that just manages 'I hate you' when in pain."

I glared at her as she held out her hand. I looked at her.

"What makes you think I'm going to let you help me?" I snapped.

"Well, I mean, you've got other options. You could just crawl all the way back in there as I laugh at your misery and loose more blood than you can handle by letting it all splatter over the floors, or you can let me get you back to the room quickly so you won't die tonight."

I grunted. "Fine." I took her hand with mine and stood up, my leg wobbling under my weight. Yep. That canine hadn't only been able to do some damage, it had done some damage.

As I walked with her back to the door- well, limped- I accidentally at some point nearly tripped over myself with this darned leg and automatically threw my arm around her to catch myself. She laughed at this, but I just scowled and pulled away.

When we got back to that dark room I grimaced, but it was shortly after changed to a scowl when she shoved me down onto that bed again.

"Well, you're gentle, aren'tcha?" I snapped. She rolled her eyes.

"Just shut up and hold still, idiot." She muttered, then looked at what I'd done earlier to the bedposts. She sighed, grabbing the broken one and ripping the restraints off of it and beginning to fix it around what was left of the post.

"Give me your hand," she snapped. I just glared at her.

"And I'm supposed to do that, why?"

"Because if you don't, I'll snap your neck." she growled, placing one hand on my throat now. I just laughed.

"Sure you will.."

"I'm honestly thinking about it."

She grabbed my hand with her free one and forced the restraint around it, then worked the other one back on the other hand. I gave up on fighting it and stayed silent the rest of the time.

When she was done she got down at the end of the bed, finding my leg had been pulled up all the way against my body as far as I could get it out of pain. She rolled her eyes at this, sighing.

"I'd really appreciate this, but seeing your view on things I'll doubt you'll do it; but please just give me your leg for god's sakes."

I looked at her, then slowly extended it. She looked the wound over, then muttered, "I'll be right back."

By the time she was gone and the door was slammed, that itching feeling that I needed to get out of here was just ten times worse.
