"I'm not ready for this." Cecily took a deep breath.
"What?! I'm so ready. I can't wait to be done with school." Isabelle said.
"Only to go to an even harder one." Clary sighed.
I chuckled. "Oh c'mon you guys, college won't be that bad."
"I agree with Tessa." Jace added in. "College is going to awesome."
Will snorted. "So you say now."
We were all standing in the back of the stage, at our graduation ceremony, waiting to walk on. We were dressed in our caps and gowns, wearing dresses and tuxedo's underneath. The week has gone by so quickly, and now it was finally happening. We were finally graduating. It all felt so surreal. I found out that Will and I were going to go to the same university, and I had been ecstatic. Though, I had no idea how he had managed to be accepted into it.
"I know I've said this a billion times, but I can't believe we're graduating." Isabelle remarked.
"The year went by so fast." Jace admitted.
"I'm going to miss you all so much." Cecily started to tear up, and Gabriel pulled her into him.
Will groaned. "Please don't cry, Cecy, because if aunt Celine sees you cry, then she'll start up."
Cecily sighed. "I just wish mom and dad could've been here."
"I do too." Will smiled sadly.
My heart breaking for him, I embraced him tightly, and he hugged me back. Tears fell from Cecily's eyes, which made my own start to water. I pulled away from Will, and wiped my tears.
"Tessa, why are you crying?" He frowned.
I chuckled. "I'm just going to miss you all so much."
"Me too." Isabelle sniffed, her eyes becoming red and puffy.
"Look what I've done." Cecily chuckled, wiping her tears away. "Okay we have to stop now, or else our makeup's going to run."
"I wore waterproof, because I knew this would happen." I laughed.
Everyone laughed, and I finally stopped crying. I was literally so emotional, I hated it. A few minutes later, a teacher said that we could walk on stage, and take our seats. I looked out into the crowd and stopped Celine and Stephen, Isabelle and Alec's parents, Simon's, Gabriel's, and finally my own. Aunt Harriet and Nate were smiling brightly at me. Nate had been able to make my graduation, which I had been happy about.
I took my seat with everyone else who had a last name that started with a G. I wasn't too far away from Will, Cecily, Jace, and I was only two seats away from Clary. Isabelle, Alec, Gabriel, and Simon were a few rows behind me. Principal Waters then went up, and gave a lengthy speech about this years graduating class, and congratulated us. I looked at aunt Harriet, through the gap of chairs, to see that she was already crying. Oh great, I thought to myself. The head of our school board went up next, and said a few words.
Stacy Greene, our valedictorian, then went up and made her speech, which was even longer. For most of it, I tuned out, thinking about random things. I even went on my phone for a bit, even though we weren't supposed to. Then, the first few rows of students went behind the curtain, and one of our teachers started to call out names.
"Savannah Aldertree." She started.
Savannah walked out, and took her diploma, and shook hands with Principal Waters. This went on for awhile, and then Clary, mine, and Cecily's row was called. We all walked behind the curtain, and I met up with all of them. Cecily was a bundle of nerves.
"Oh calm down, Cecy." Will chuckled. "You're only walking across a stage, and shaking hands with people."
"I know, but everyone will be watching." She said anxiously.
"You'll do fine. You're Cecily Herondale." I chuckled.
"Clarissa Fairchild." We heard the teacher call.
"Oh god, that's me." Clary said. "Wish me luck!"
"You won't need it." Jace smirked, as she walked away.
Clary walked out onto the stage, and then more people with last names that started with F went. They all passed by, and then the G's were starting to get called.
"Theresa Gray." I heard the teacher say.
"Go get it, baby." Will kissed my cheek.
I blushed, and walked out onto the stage. I smiled at aunt Harriet, who was video taping me, and walked over and accepted my diploma from Principal Waters.
"Congratulations, miss Gray." She smiled as we shook hands.
I smiled brightly, and then went and took my seat. The G's were then over, and the H's started. Finally, I heard a name called that I knew.
"Cecily Herondale." The teacher said.
Cecily walked out, grinning happily. She took her diploma, shook hands with Principal Waters, and sat down.
"Jonathan Herondale."
Jace walked out, grinning wildly, and did the same as Cecily.
"William Herondale."
Will walked out, looking some sort of model, smirking. He winked at all of our classmates, when he was just about to sit down, and I laughed. After fifteen more minutes, the L's started. Isabelle had blown a kiss toward everyone, which was totally her smile. Alec had blushed cutely, smiling at everyone. Gabriel, had grinned happily, accepting his diploma, and Simon had almost tripled over his gown, but saved himself. I chuckled, typical Simon.
When it was all over, Principal Waters walked up to the microphone.
"I give you the graduating class of 2016!" She grinned.
We all cheered and threw our caps up, and Clary embraced me. After it was all over, we all met up with each other outside. Clary, Cecily, Isabelle, and I all hugged each other tightly, squealing.
"We did it! We graduated!" Izzy exclaimed.
"We actually did it!" Cecily grinned.
I laughed happily, and then we pulled away. Will then had his arms around me, and kissed me. I grinned, and kissed him happily, and then we pulled away.
"I love you." Will's forehead was leaning on mine.
"I love you, too." I smiled.
All of our parents then walked up, and told us to all get together for a picture. We all put our arms around each other and smiled.
"Ugh, stop stepping on my foot, Will." Jace complained.
"Make me." He smirked.
"Please don't start wrestling each other, here." Cecily said tiredly.
"Fine, but you're down when we get home." Jace grumbled to Will.
"Whatever you say, banana." Will smirked.
We all laughed, and Celine snapped a picture. Nothing in the world seemed so perfect, everyone was happy, and had so much ahead for them.
I knew that I would remember this moment for the rest of my life.
