Unexpected Love

Chapter 73: Third person

This is the chapter for Jared:

Misha sits on his living room couch holding his wife's hand. Jensen and Danneel sit in the love seat across from them. A coffee table sits in the center, with photo albums that held pictures of their memories with Jared. The four of them wanted to get together in honor of their late friend. Grace invited Genevieve but she refused to come, saying she was too upset.

It's easy to tell Jensen is struggling because of the shaky, slow breaths he is taking. Danneel squeezes his hand to reassure him.

They decide that each of them should take turns talking about Jared.

"Well, I'll go first. He was the most kind-hearted person I knew. He would do anything for anyone. His smile could make me feel better in a second. I guess Jared wanted to save people even though he couldn't save himself.." Grace says, tears building up in her eyes.

Misha gives her a small, sad smile before taking his turn.

"There's no way to start off really. There's so many great things Jared has done. He was a hero to so many people. I looked up to him, I really did..I still do. And he should still be here. He should still be here with us." Misha chokes out that last part, his sadness taking over.

Grace leans her head on Misha's shoulder as tears continue falling down her cheek. However, they continue.

Jensen talks about how even the greatest, kindest people are broken. And how you have to experience sadness to know happiness. He goes on for a while, saying that Jared had made his life so much better.
But Danneel's sobs prevent her from being able to even say a full sentence.

"I miss him!" she cries out.

That pretty much broke them all. The four friends finally release their built up emotions.

Tears speak more loudly than thousands of people shouting, they are the messengers of grief and, at the same time, immense love.
