"Camila, stop!" I wince slightly as Ally continues to yell for me, my heart pleading for me to stop before I collapsed of exhaustion, but my mind begging for me to run for my life before it was too late. I place my hands on both knees and pant loudly, shaking my head as I look up at Ally, who continues to worry about what we saw over five minutes ago.
"Stop it, Ally." I take deep breathes, "We're not going back there,"
My wide eyes meet her soft brown ones and I can see the confusion swirling through them. The smaller girl whispers, "Those are you best friends back there, Mila..."
I feel my chest tighten at the look on her face and look down at my feet, fully knowing that what she was saying was true. I moisten my lips and swallow hard, wiping the sweat on my forehead. "You can't be making me feel bad now, Ally. I saw what I saw, okay?"
"You don't think I saw it, too?" Ally places a hand over her hip, "I'm scared too, Camila! But they can be hurt right now."
"We can't do anything about it," I scoff, "You saw Dinahs eyes, so you Normani's...fangs! That was not normal,"
"I don't care!" Ally argues loudly, spinning me around before I have the time to walk away. I feel my fingers tremble and I can't help but feel scared and vulnerable at the thought of Dinah's completely blood shot eyes and Normani's sharp, bleach white teeth.
"I'm scared Ally," I whisper, taking a small glance at the dark bushes behind us, where the rest of them most probably lurked. There was an unreadable expression of the smaller girls face and I knew she was scared to add something, but she only sighs, nodding as well.
"Camila," Ally looks around first, swallowing hard and pulling my into the nearest public place around us. Others stared at us as if we were crazy when we rush past them, sweaty, and panting as if we had run a mile back. "I have this thought that I don't really want to tell you."
"Tell me," I stare into her eyes, "As far as we know, we can only trust each other for now.."
Ally sits over a small bench near a payphone a few feet away and takes a deep breath, letting go of my damn hand and swallowing hard. "At the party, l-last night...when you were missing--you know we were worried sick about you. Normani was the first to notice and they ran after you, and I followed..."
I nod slowly, still wiping the sweat off my forehead. "Yeah?"
"Mhm," Ally looks down at her lap, "I thought it was just me at first, but today has proved me differently. When they ran for you that night... it was just a quick blur and this strong force of air before they went from being a foot away from me, all the way across the street. They were just too worried for you to notice they had almost, like...teleported."
I feel my heart sink and my suspicion doesn't falter one bit when Ally tells me, my thoughts being correct on the fact that these girls weren't human. With wide eyes, I try to catch my breath, not knowing whether to question her about it, or just go along with what she's saying considering there's enough proof.
"I don't want to hear any more of this," I mutter, wiping both my eyes. "I'm just hoping this is all a dream,Al."
"I wish," The girl frowns softly.
I ignore her blurry eyes and decide to add, "I thought they were good people..."
"Camila, you've known them for years." Ally gasps with wide eyes. "You should know better,"
I shake my head. "No, Ally. Not the girls. The Jauregui's--they were so nice to me, and they didn't look any different from us."
"You saw the way their bodies just--transformed, weirdly?" Ally shudders, pointing out the way each of their bodies cracked into this humongous position, almost like they were growing in size.
