Camila's POV
There were many thoughts rushing through my head as we continued to walk down the familiar dirt road, an arm wrapped tightly around my shoulder as I walked beside her. Lauren on the other hand, walked in front of the rest of the small group with two of the oldest Jauregui brothers at her sides, well aware of their surroundings. I sigh softly into Lexa's arm and she looks down at me, raising an eyebrow sharply.
"Why don't you start off with why you've been spitting on my arm for the past few minutes?" The green eyed Heda gives me a glance, her grip on my beginning to loosen up as I look up at her. I smile softly and look down at the dirt under my shoes, feeling my feet ache after the long walk.
"I don't get why we're meeting up with Clarke," I bite my lip, watching the interaction between Lauren and the two vampires as they speak mindlessly about God knows what. "Doesn't that mean more trouble?"
Lexa simply shakes her head and I wrap my hands around her arm as she leads me down a small hill, casually replying. "You're the only one worrying about this, you know that right?"
I look over to my left and watch as Ally, Chris, and Alexandria laugh about some pointless joke while my other two best friends talk to Lauren who looks quite amused as well. I look up at Lexa again and she raises an eyebrow, knowing she had a very good point. I sigh, "I don't know who this Clarke girl is but after meeting her sister, I have no hope of having piece with them."
Lexa merely gives me a smile and I roll my eyes, unintentionally mumbling my thoughts. "How come you leaders never smile?"
Lexa almost stops abruptly and her eyes soften for a split second when they meet mine and my smile slowly disappears. Lexa shakes her head as if trying to dismiss the question and her lips quirk upwards as she mutters, "Us leaders?"
"Well yeah," I breath out, "Lauren barely smiles and I've only seen you laugh once and that's about it. Is happiness foreign to you or something?"
"Shut up," Lexa chuckles, and again I can see her smile brighten and I find myself smiling as well. The green eyed girl was much more prettier when she smiled, it confused me to why she didn't do it often. "I guess it's just how I am, I rarely smile. After my parents death I just couldn't bear to even smile, you know?"
"Oh," I feel my heart ache for the quiet girl, "I'm sorry..."
"It's okay, Cabello." Lexa offers me a small smile and I laugh softly, nodding. "There's your precious smile."
"Anyways," Lexa rolls her eyes, wrapping her arm around my shoulder playfully. "This Clarke girl, like you were saying, I've heard lots of good things about her. People say she's nothing like her sister,"
"You've never actually met her?" My eyebrows crease slightly and my lips part open as I jump over a small puddle in the muddy dirt. Lexa shakes her head and she shrugs when I give her a confused frown,
"Only the younger five have met her," She states, referring to Lauren and her siblings. "I just really have a thing with vampires, I don't know."
"A thing?"
"My parents were tortured and killed by the Griffin family, because of me." Her eyes lower down the ground and she swallows hard, tucking her other hand into her back pocket. "I was about twelve or thirteen when they were taken, kidnapped may I add. They were so young, innocent. I had done something I wasn't supposed to do to one of the Griffin members and they executed my parents for it."
