*Slight change! Clementine will now be depicted as Josephine Langford (Actress above). Hope you all don't mind the minor adjustment.* (I know you're all tired of my bullshit)
Camila's POV
"You feeling better?"
I give Lauren a glass a milk when she's finally seated, having walked a few minutes back to her house after the entire Clementine incident. I had once again slipped from my mother's arms after our encounter and I was beginning to realize that I wasn't at home lately. This entire time, she thought I had been sleeping over at Ally's house and going to school with her when in reality, I had missed an entire week of school.
"I think so," Lauren nods, taking a small sip of the milk. I take a seat next to her and watch as she places the glass down carefully, sighing to herself. "We really don't get to choose who we fall for do we?"
I look down at the cup of milk in front of her and shrug, not knowing if that was completely true. In some ways, we did. "Maybe we're not aware that we actually have a choice. Otherwise, I wouldn't be seated here at this very moment."
Lauren looks me in the eye and her eyebrows furrow. "Why's that?"
I smile, "Because I chose to stay with you. Even before the party, before you even marked me, I could never stop thinking about you. I was always so intrigued by you and every glance I could get was enough to make me feel better. I think thats exactly how Ally felt."
I look at Lauren again and she's thinking deeply about what I'm saying before squinting her eyes at me thoughtfully. "So you think humans also have a partake in the whole mating experience?"
I shrug, "Why not? You didn't start following me everywhere until I started gaining feelings for you. Because somehow, my feelings were making our bond stronger. Maybe that's why you marked me in the first place. That's why Clementine marked Ally."
Lauren nods, sighing softly. "Interesting theory."
I shake my head. "You think it's bullshit?"
"She fell for someone with a very cruel heart." She sighs, shaking her head at the thought of the blonde that had once ruined her life. I understood why Lauren was upset that she had to see more of Clementine in the long run, because she had ruined her mothers life and in some way, hers. "Why would faith bring such a pure being and such a deceiving one together?"
I sigh, "I think that's exactly what Clementine needs. Ally could be the only way we could get her to change. She needs light, and if Ally can provide that for her then why should we be the ones to cut things off?"
Lauren sighs and rolls her eyes, "You're right. She's her mate anyway, she should have the right to show her."
Although she looks quite upset with my defensive side of their relationship, I can tell she's trying her best to accept the fact that maybe they can be a couple after all. I try my best to comfort her in any way when it comes to anything that upsets her, but now it was time for me to defend and accept Ally's relationship now that she needs it.
"This is very conflicting for me and you know it," I sigh, stroking her cheek gently.
Lauren breathes in deeply and nods, offering me a small smile. I return the small gesture and squeeze her hand, grateful for having such an understanding human being by my side. I knew that Lauren was mainly conflicted about Ally's lover because she's had history with her, and maybe she should be angry at her for marking one of her friends. But it was no longer her choice to make if Ally is already marked.
"You taught me that we don't exactly choose who we fall for," I whisper quietly, watching a distanced Ally from the other side of the room, playing with a small rose in her hand. "You taught me that both vampires and werewolves better themselves and do everything in their power to love and protect their soulmate."
