A Timy Wimie Thing

I woke up on my own bed. My room was carved out of the limestone that was common around here. It had several pictures and an assortment of weapons lining the walls. I got up and opened my door. I saw the team sitting at the central table. The room was carved out of a stone cliff. There was one central room and all of the bedrooms were connected to it. There were seven people on the team. I would have become the eighth, but I failed the mission.

I walked in and heard Jesper say "I punched his face, IN THE FACE." and had to smile. The chief was sitting at the front of the table, he was debriefing the team. He reminded me of a royal tiger. His eyes were deep and thoughtful, but had a glimmer to them. It almost looked like he was laughing on the inside. He held himself with confidence. That confidence was well placed, he was a great warrior and leader. Working with him was like working with George Washington or Obi Wan Kenobi.

Jesper sat on his right. He was a dirty blonde and had light blue eyes/ had olive skin, dark ruddy brown hair, and black eyes. His demeanor was not as overtaking. He was an average fighter, but was really smart. I never knew why he was second in command. I always thought that it was because the Chief knew him really well. Now I realize that it was because of his power. I would have to ask him later about his gifts.

Ryan Smith was on the Chief Tanner's left. Ryan had black hair, blue eyes, and he had a sturdy build. When he was young, his wings were cut off by the enemy. He had the ability to see really well, he could zoom in on people and could see around corners.

Next to him was Ivan. He was a Russian mammoth of a man. He had joined the team early on. Obviously, he had super strength. He was hardcore fighter, but was kind and gentle whenever he could be. Next to Jesper was Cherry Bomb. I don't know her real name, but her attitude is sweetly explosive. She looks Gothic with a slight amount of punk. She has long dark black hair with one red streak. She can control the void and chaos.

Next to her sat Matthew. He had light blonde hair that was in a ponytail, blue eyes, and very defined features. He could see dimensions, that is, he is like a super as seeing exact sizes and shapes. He has never needed a measuring tape in his life. Next to Ivan is Rosemary. She is slim and almost has white hair she's so blonde. She has light big blue eyes, stringy hair, and a short face. Also, she is telepathic. Tanner found her in a prison and she has been with us ever since. She links everyone's minds on the missions so we can talk to each other.

When I walked in, everyone looked at me. I quickly ran to my seat at the end of the table. Even though the ranks are kind-of represented by where you are on the table, we are all a team. I look up at Tanner. I said, " I'm sorry sir, we didn't finish the mission and it's-" Tanner put up a hand and I fell silent.

He said in a strong voice, " It's fine, the test wasn't graded by if you completed the mission, but how you dealt with the problems. We didn't know that Rancliff was going to be there, but we did know that something was going to go wrong. Something always does." He said that with a slight smile then continued, "You handled yourself very well back there, you didn't freeze up or let Jesper down. Because of this, we have decided that you passed the test, and now you are a full member of the team."
I think my chin hit the table as my mouth opened. I did not expect that. I thought I did let Jesper down, and it was him who had to save me. I couldn't say anything for a while, but then I squeaked out, " Um, well..... thank you sir. I.."
I couldn't get anything else out. I mean to be an official member of the team. Wow. The Chief nodded at me and continued, "You have become a member of this team, and now we have a special mission for you. The enemy is closing in on our location, and we don't have a lot of time. We have gotten a device that may stop what is happening. A time traveler. You and Ryan will use this time shifter and save our team from the past."
I gulped, this was an official mission and worse yet, if we failed, the team would die. I slowly said, "Sir, I just became apart of the team. I'm not sure if I'm ready. Shouldn't you or someone else go?"
Chief Tanner shook his head. He replied, "Jesper and I are to reconisible to go, and you will be about my age when you go back. You will be able to follow us more easily than anyone else in the team."
I understood. In straightened my back as I realized that everyone was counting on both Ryan and I. I would be point in this mission, keeping an eye on the younger Tanner and Jesper.
I looked at the chief as he said, " Now that you have accepted this mission, you need to know more about Jesper and I. For starters, I had a sister named Addison."
What? He had a sister? I knew some of the stories about Addison, but I didn't realize that she was his sister. In the history books, five people died because of a witch hunt to open the Pandora's box. Some whackhead got it into their brains that they could use whatever was in it to dominate the world. They succeeded. Addison and Tanner were apart of the group who died. Thankfully the Chief can heal, so lived through it, but nobody else did. I looked up at Tanner as he started talking again.

I flopped on my bed exhausted. We had talked late into the night about my mission. I learned that I was going back in time to save and stop the opening of the Pandora's box. I was to stay close to both Tanner and Addison until then. It was mostly my job to protect them and Ryan would just advise me, and pretend as my dad. I was going undercover. They explained that I would still remember the history before I go back in time, but once I did something that changed the time stream, I would know what the new time stream was. I wasn't quite sure what that meant but Chief Tanner said not to worry because it was a time wimie thing. Whatever that meant.

Tomorrow, I was going to travel back in time and start my mission. It was hard to imagine that I would never come back to the time I left. Even if I failed, the future would never be the same. I though it might take me a while to fall asleep, but once I got comfy, it wasn't a problem.
