I arrived at the park a right on time. It was beautiful. Every time I looked at nature I couldn't get over how beautiful it is. Today was green and sunny. The sky was so blue and clear. It was strange to have a blue sky. Since the Burning, ours was maroon or gold.
I looked about and saw that Seth was near a picnic table. I waved and he waved back. His blonde hair shifted in the breeze. He looked good. I smiled. Wait, why? Why did I just smile? What was so funny? I frowned. What was that all about?
Whatever it was, it wasn't unpleasant. I walked over to Seth and said hi. He smiled and looked over at two boys and a girl. He said, "Hey guys, this is Raina."
The boy with ruddy brown hair smiled and nodded. The black haired, almost goth looking boy said, "Wassup?"
And the blonde girl with red streaks in her hair said, "Oh thank goodness another girl is coming. I thought it was going to be only me."
Seth laughed and said, "Raina this is Lucy, Sam, and David."
Sam was the goth one. He reminded me of a guy version of Cherrybomb. I realized that I really missed the team. I didn't miss the world after the Burning, but I did miss them.

"Well," said David, "Now that everyone is here, can we get started?"
Seth nodded and we headed towards the forest. We started on a small trail and Seth started to talk to me, "We are really lucky to have the forest so close to us. Most towns have it a few miles away."
As I looked around, I had to agree. There was plants and animals everywhere. Trees grew tall and beautiful. The smell of the trees was just subtle enough to enhance the walk. Birds chirped around me and the squirrels chattered in the trees. I didn't realize that I was consumed in the glory of it until I looked back at Seth. He was grinning like a maniac.
What? Did I just walk into his evil trap? Is this actually what he wanted me to do? Stupid. I would have been so distracted that he could have slipped a bomb into my pocket and I wouldn't have noticed.
He said, "First time in the forest?"
I nodded. He continued, "I can tell by the awe and wonder on your face."
I frowned, wasn't that bad? Shouldn't I have an unreadable face? He read my face again and said, "Thats fine. It's great. Its not any day of the week where I can give someone a new experience."
I smiled at him. Good. I hadn't blown my cover. So far, so good.

We suddenly burst out of the trees and into a small field. I saw a deer run away on the far side of the field. There were flowers blooming all over. I saw Lucy wink at Seth and grab the other two boys and walk as little away.
What were they planning? Was this where he would kidnap me? I got ready for an attack.
Instead Seth started a conversation. He started talking about his life and asking about mine. I told him, but left out the important bits. I said only what I had too. Soon he picked up that my past wasn't a popular topic and asked me what I liked to do.
After three I don't knows in a row he laughed and said, "You don't get out much do you."
I shrugged and replied, "Fighting is my life, it's what I'm good at." Which was true. He said with a chuckle, "Well we will have to fix that."
I didn't understand, was he going to force me to do stuff? I asked, "What do you mean we?"
He suddenly backed off and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean... I just wondered... I guess I just wanted to spend more time to get to know you. You're kind of mysterious. No offence."

What just happened? All I wanted to know is if he was going to force me to do anything or not. He just suddenly started saying sorry. I blinked and said, "No problem, I guess. I just wanted to understand what you meant."
His shoulders relaxed and he said, " Oh, ok. I just... are you taken?"
That took me by surprise. What did he mean? I said, "No I'm not taken. I am standing right in front of you. Obviously I'm not captured or something."
He started to chuckle. Then laughed, then started shaking. He almost fell to the ground.
Did I hurt him? I grabbed the back of his shirt and hauled him up. He was in tears. I looked at him in confusion. I seemed to be confused a lot these days.
He said inbetween laughs and deep breaths, " Your obviously not captured? Jeez Raina where do you come up with stuff like that?"
I realized that he was ok and let go of his shirt. He continued, "I didn't mean that. Do you have a boyfriend?"
A boyfriend? Well.. He was a boy, and hopefully a friend. I said, "Yes, I have many. My dad is a really good friend, and he is most defiantly a boy."
He started to laugh uncontrollably again. What did I do? I thought in despair.
When he finally stopped his laughter (which seemed to be very difficult). He said, "Raina, you are the most original, serious, and punctual person I have ever met."
I asked, "Is that good?"
He nodded, "Well, I think it's great. I haven't had a good laugh in a while."
I smiled and said, "Good, then we are all cold?"
He frowned, "Cold? Do you mean cool?"
Scalding Chicken Tenders I got it wrong again! I scrunched my lips in a oops face and said, " Yeah, sorry."
He smiled and said, "Where do you come up with this stuff?"
I shrugged, "From my brain."
He smirked again, "And sassy too."
I got that one. I smirked back. Just then the other kids came down and said that we were heading back.
We talked the rest of the way down. Thankfully there were no more disasters. Once we reached the Park, everyone started saying goodbye.
Seth turned to me and said, "This was nice, would you want to do it another time?"
I nodded and said, "Yeah, sure. If I can."
He said, "Cold." And smirked.
I smiled and said, "It was nice to meet you guys and go for a hike. I got to get back. See you later."
With that I walked off.

Once I was out of sight, I started to run. I knew it was unusual for someone to run everywhere but I couldn't drive and walking was so slow. Besides, it kept up my endurance.
I walked into our hotel and slumped on my bed. Ryan was sitting at the desk writing and looked up. He asked, "How did it go?"
I said, "Good, I think. I'm not sure what it accomplished but I think that was the idea."
He smiled and said, "Now your getting the hang of things. So anything interesting happen?"
I said, "Yeah, What does boyfriend mean?"
He smiled and said in a stern voice, "Don't you think you're a little young for that missy?"
I was confused... again. That feeling was getting way too old. He continued, "A boyfriend is a guy who is your friend. But instead of just being your friend, you both devote your time to each other in order to figure out if you want to marry and spend the rest of your life together. Why, did he ask?"
I nodded, "He asked me if I had one, but only because he thought that he stepped over a line by asking to suspend more."
"Hang," He corrected, " Its hang, not suspend."
I nodded. Probably should fix that.
