I rode down a bumpy path to Asher's house. I was taking the long way because I was In no particular rush to get to his house. I looked into the night sky and saw a full moon and a sky full of stars, shining down on the lake to my left. I was close to his house when I realized this was were me and Asher first became a couple.
---------flashback----------
"Asher do you think it's safe? I know that this is your dads boat, but are you sure you can use this?" Asher looked up at me and smiled softly. "Nia, do you trust me. Like seriously trust me?" I looked at my friend. This sweet 14 year old boy who I'd known my whole life, was asking if I trusted him. Before I could stop myself I opened my mouth and said " Yes Ash. I trust you with my life." He smiled even wider as I stepped into the small motor boat and he started the engine. As he drove the boat around, I leaned over and let my fingers trail against the water, creating streaks behind them. Asher must've seen me because he laughed and took a wide turn, making the ripples behind my fingers bigger. I squealed in delight.
Then the boat slowed down and we were in the middle of the lake. I turned to Asher who was staring at me while I was playing with the small fish. "Ash? Are you ok?" I asked going back to the fish while still listening to him. He slid over to my side and said "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just you're so sweet. Not to mention how hot you are. I t's hard not to stare." I stopped and turned completely towards Asher now. "Armenia.......will you be my girlfriend?"
I leaned forward and kissed him. When I pulled away, I smiled and said "Of course Ash, I thought you'd never ask." He hugged me close to him while he smiled into my hair, then we rode home.---------end of flashback-------
I smiled at the thought of how close we'd gotten since then. I pulled my bike into Asher's dirt driveway and bounced up the steps. I knocked on the door and was greeted by Asher's mom. "Hi Mrs. Wesley, is Asher home?" I asked with a smile. She gave me a quick hug which I gladly accepted before she said " Yes sweetie, he's upstairs working on a project, but I'm sure he'd happily accept the interruption. Especially if your interrupting." I blushed before thanking her and walking upstairs towards Asher's room. I knocked once and got no response, so I walked in and nearly screamed at what I saw. Asher and Savanna were sitting on his bed. Savanna had her arms around Asher's neck and was kissing him sweetly. Asher then gently wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Tears filled my eyes before I whispered "Ash...?" They didn't hear me so I said it a little louder " Asher!" They sprang apart and Heat filled Asher's checks." Armenia, I can explain, I promise." He said standing up. "Asher.........I trusted you......how could you....?" I cried as I turned around and bolted out his room, down the steps, and outside. Tears streamed down my face as I pushed the pedals on my bike as fast as they could go. I glanced at the lake again, but this time the memory brought more tears instead of a smile.
