Chapter 1

Nicki POV

"Cookie I still can't believe you're getting married" candi says as we sat down at the table. We were out for lunch discussing work and my wedding. I am the best plastic surgeon here in the city of New York. "Yea me neither" I say sighing out. "What's wrong sis why you did that" she asks as I fiddled with my engagement ring. "I don't know. I just feel like all of this was rushed. Feels like I was forced to say yes. Like when he proposed to me on Christmas last year I couldn't say no even if I wanted to" I say as she shook her head.

"Is he still.... You know.... Hitting you" she asks as I threw my head back. "No he's not hitting me candi. He only hit me once, maybe twice but that was only because I didn't do what he wanted" I say as she shook her head. "So did you ever tell meek" she asked as our salads came. "No I didn't tell him he's all the way in Miami since they chasers got a nice deal out there on their biking company. Plus he stop hitting me." I say fixing up my salad. "Well I'm just scared something happen between y'all and he end up hitting you in front of jaylen" candi says as I rolled my eyes. "Can we stop talking about this please. I'm not hungry anymore." I say getting up leaving her at the table. I'll be meeting meek at the airport in 30 minutes to get my son so I decided to head on up there. Meek and I managed to co parent so he gets jaylen the last two weeks of every month and through those months we FaceTime, well we always FaceTime dealing with our son.

I finally pulled up going inside sitting down with my MacBook going over my schedule and appointments. About 45 minutes later I heard running and my name being yelled. "Mommy mommy mommy" jaylen says as I looked up closing my laptop. "Heeeeeey jaaaaaaaay" I say picking him up spinning him around kissing his fat cheeks as he laughed. "I missed you so much mommy" he says as I looked at him. "And mommy missed you too baby boy. Where's daddy?" I ask looking around for meek as he pointed to him walking up with his bags. "Hey" he simply says handing me jaylen's bag. "Thank you" I say looking down at jaylen. "Alright say bye bye daddy" I say as meek stared at me. "Yo you good Nic? Jarvis treating you right still?" He ask as I rolled my eyes before looking up.

"Yes he is meek and he's good with jay" I say hoping he'd leave the subject alone. "Oh I'm just making sure. You know I love you right. And I want my family back" he says as the tears build up in my eyes. "Look meek now is not the place or time to be talking about this" I say picking up jay. "So when is the right time? Huh? I apologized to you I don't know how many times but you moved on so quickly and damn near about to be married and shit so when is the right time" he ask more sternly as jay laid his head down on my shoulder. "Look I got to go" I say turning around walking off. "Bye bye daddyyyyyy" jaylen says waving as we exited the airport. Once I got to my car I unlocked the doors opening the door for jay as he climbed in his seat. "Ok baby boy ready to go home" I ask strapping him in as he nodded his head. "Mommy why you crying" he asked as I wiped my tears away. "Allergies baby, really really really bad allergies" I respond lying to him closing his door.

I then got in starting the car up as I looked in the mirror checking my makeup. I'm crying because the love of my life, father of my child broke my heart into millions of pieces. Back in philly, just a year after jaylen was born I went up to his job to surprise him with lunch and dessert for being such a good daddy but my plan was ruined when I seen he was fucking some red haired hoe. I whooped her ass and his ass that night. What was apart of me was now apart of her and I couldn't take seeing that yet alone seeing him so I packed up me and jaylen shit and we moved back to New York. I graduated college when he was one and here I am working and living my dream job as being a plastic surgeon. I love meek but when I look at him that same hurt that took place the day he cheated on me floods back to mind.

"Mommy can we get sum Burger King fwies" jaylen says as we came to a red light. "Sure baby" I giggled sniffling. I pulled my phone out to call Jarvis and let him know I'm picking up fast food. "Hey baby" he answers as I smiled. "Hey I just got jaylen from the airport and I am now on my way to Burger King to get jaylen a kids meal have you eaten anything" I ask. "No I haven't just get me a whopper with cheese no pickles and a side of onion rings baby" he says as I pulled in to Burger King. "Ok see you when I get home" I say as he said "love you" as I hung up. Of course I didn't say it back so now I'm going to have to hear his mouth when I get home. "Hi welcome to Burger King order when you're ready" a female voice speaks into the speaker as I order our food.
