It's been 17 days and 16 long nights since the wedding. Gray has been over more than usual, to check up on me. He brought Dalton over a few times. Honestly, I think I'm over Connor. 100% over him. I no longer can think about him.
I gasp as my front door unexpectedly opens.

"Gray? What are you doing here?"

He looked at me, "Go get dressed! Something nice!" He commanded pointing to upstairs.
I looked at him funny, but listening and glanced back downstairs. He sat down on the couch, watching TV.
         "How nice?"
He keeps his eyes on the TV, "Something nice, don't care, but dresses only."
I growl, "Uggggh."
Why?
I opening my door to the master bedroom. I hurry to my closet. There were multiple dresses. I had my red one, a blue one with black waist belt, a knee length gold one, a sparkly pitch black one, and many more.
I look at my shoes, gold and red, or gold and black?  Gold and black. I have more gold jewelry than anything red. This black dress I had forever. It was foot length, sweetheart neckline, and sparkly. It was one of my most expensive ones. I slip it on, fixing my breasts to fill the cups, and part my hair to my left side. I had straightened it yesterday because I had nothing else to do.
I gave my hair a little volume. I quickly  started to do my makeup. It wasn't like contour or anything. I already had a great jawline and cheekbones. I finish my makeup by adding mascara. I went downstairs to get my shoes.
Gray came out of the kitchen, fixing his collar on his jacket. He had on a blue v-neck shirt, and a dark brown jacket over it with ripped jeans.
He always wears jeans. It's his favorite thing to wear. And jeans suited him. It was like his signature almost, he wore them so much. He ran his fingers through his hair. He left it flat, but in a cute way.
"Where are we going?" I sigh, asking.
"Out", he answers, opening the front door for me.
I quickly grab my heels on the way out. Gray takes out his keys from his back pocket, unlocking his red truck Chevy. He runs to the passenger side, opening the door, moving papers. I then take off my shoes, putting them nicely in the corner. I put on foot up on the little step thingy, and pushed off from that, plopping down into the seat.
I look at my phone, it was 3:37. It was getting late. So, where was he taking me?
He hops in the driver's seat, inserting the car keys, turning them.
"I'll be right back", I unbuckle my seat belt.
"Where are you going?" His eyes were now a soft dark green.
"To go get my wallet."
Gray shook his head, "No you're not. I'm paying for everything."
"Gray..."
"Well too late now", he backed out of my driveway.
He almost bumped into the lady's car across the street from me. We drove into the urban area. Nobody was really out since it was Thursday night. Gray pulled into a tall building. Right across the street from N & L's. This was new, I don't recall seeing it here before.
"Just go in there and ask for a table with Haley."
   I look at him, "Really?"
He nodded, "I have plans with our son."
 That made me smile, "Okay..."
I unbuckled, opening the door, and sliding out, tossing my shoes onto the ground.
"Ill see you later", I say shutting the door.
He waves bye and waits to leave till I went inside.
The building was a round, tall shape. Like it was really tall. Inside, it was a gold restaurant. It was really nice, and very expensive looking. Almost everything in just the first part, where the people who sit you with someone, is all gold. The flower vases were gold, with red roses.
I walked up to them, "I have a table with Haley?"
"Right this way please", the pretty blonde woman said, taking a menu with her. She sat me in a booth in a corner.
"Hope?" I squint my eyes, looking at the woman in front of me.
She wore cat glasses, and a black wig, with bangs across her forehead. She almost looked like Taylor Swift in one of her music videos that made her look stupid.
"Shh! Whisper it. God", she hissed through her red lipstick.
"Why are we here?" I lean back, crossing my arms.
She looks up at me, rolling her eyes, leaning toward the table, "I think Connor is being used."
She keeps her head on me, but her eyes went the other way. I look the way her eyes went. I saw Courtney a few ways away, toward the middle at a table, with her mom. They looked like they were arguing about something. Courtney then stood up, in a gold dress.
There wasn't a growing bubble on her stomach anymore. She went back to her skinny self. What did she say to Connor this time, miscarriage? She threw down her napkin, and stomped out. I look back at Hope, seeing her quickly take her wig and glasses off, stuffing them in her purse.
"What are you doing?" I hiss.
"Oh, nothing. Just keep talking. It will be a second."
"What? What will be a sec-"
I was cut off by Courtney's mom. Courtney looked just like her mom. Except older, obviously. She even wore gold, and her hair was a dark blonde. It looked like doll hair almost.
"Why hello, Hope", she grins down at Hope. She didn't have on the noticeable makeup. Like foundation and stuff, with lip gloss. But just the basic things.
"Hi Hollis. How are you?" Hope chippers up.
"Not so well. Courtney being only a few weeks pregnant is killing me."
Hope played dumb, "Only a few weeks? She seems bigger than that."
Then why did she look super skinny? Is she actually pregnant this time?
Hollis shook her head, "Yes, I'm afraid she is. She wants to wear things that show off her stomach. She wants everyone to know she's a proud momma."
I couldn't help, but feel like someone punched me in the stomach.
Hope nodded her head, "Her and Connor will make great parents."
Hollis laughed, "Connor is super nervous. But I just think he's getting use to marrying someone rich."
        "Yea, maybe."
Rich? Seriously? Rich? That's all you got? The Smith's are rich, you idiot.
"Well, listen dear, I have to go get ready for this birthday party for Courtney", Hollis paused, "Why don't you come tonight? You can bring your friend here. We're going to have our pool and mini bar open. The party starts at 5:30."
Hollis looks at her huge watch on her left wrist, "Oh dear! I must really be going. It's almost 4:30!"
"See you later, Hollis!"
Hope laid down a fifty, and wrote down on a piece of paper, 'Keep the change.'
"C'mon. We're going to Perfection", she says, sliding out of the chair with everything on her forearm.
I haven't been there since high school.  I follow Hope out to her car. She must've taken Austin's car because it was a black, green striped Camaro.
"Do I have to go?" I huff.
We got to her car, hiding her purse, taking just her wallet out, and locked it, "C'mon."
She walks across the street to Perfection.
"Hi! I'm Alyssa if you need any help!" A middle-age red, pixie hair cut woman greeted us.
"Great! Thanks", Hope grins, walking toward the bikini section.
I quickly follow her, looking around. It didn't take her longer than five minutes to find the one she wanted. For me. Not for her, for me. I was just going to wear my old one.
"This is perfect", she shoves it in my arms.
____
We arrived at Hollis's house in a limo. A limo. Hope said our entrance was important. Hope slid out of the vehicle first, then I. We walked around the house to the back where the reception was, just it was more towards the right of it. That's where everybody was at.
There was a huge pool, with a deck attached and a few hammocks by the fence part of the deck with a few chairs. They even had a tiki house where they served drinks. There were so many people here, of all ages. Even kids!
I pull up my white see-through maxi skirt up to my waist. Hope bought me a black bikini, with those rings on the hips, connecting the string of the bottoms, and the top was the same. Except the ring was in between my boobs, and the straps tied around my neck.
Hope said it was a 'Get-My-Brother-Back-From-Satan' gift. Her bathing suit match mine, except hers was a bright green and a one piece. And she just had on shorts for the cover up, with her hair in a perfect messy bun.
There weren't any lights. Just tiki torches, and glow sticks thrown in the pool. There was more young people, than old.
"C'mon. I wanna go see Austin", Hope grabs my wrist pulling me towards the hammocks.
Austin had on cyan shorts, with a dark yellow shirt. He had light brown hair, that was all over the place from him being in the pool. Music was in the background. And there was a huge sign on top of the mini bar, it said in pink, "Happy 24th Birthday Courtney!"
Honestly, I'm glad I didn't bring a gift. I'm only five days younger  than her, and I feel like she 15 because she is so childish.
Hope wraps her arm around Austin, and he does the same to her, just talking to Connor and Courtney who were in a hammock right in front of him.
Courtney was sitting on Connor's left leg, with her legs crossed. She wore a white one piece, and the back when all the way down to her lower back. I could only tell because she turned when she flipped her ponytail onto her shoulder. She must've told Connor she miscarried, because she was bigger at the wedding than she is now. Fucking liar.
Connor's hair was all shaggy. He wore white swim shorts, and no shirt, with black flip flops.
He choked a little on his beer when he noticed me.
Courtney gave me a disgusted look, "I'm so glad you made it, Chris. You made my husband choke and turn away when he saw you."
She said it all snottily, like I was suppose to walk away. That was a poor insult anyways. No need to be bitchy because we called you out.
I felt Austin and Hope's eyes on me, Connor starting to calm down.
"I'm sorry, am I suppose to be offended?" I gave her a warm smile.
Connor started coughing again, having to look around, but he was coughing from laughing.
Hope shrugged at Courtney, and took a sip of Austin's beer.
"You want one, Christy?" Austin's asks.
   "Sure..Thanks."
"You can take off your skirt, you know", Hope whispers into my ear.
  "Why?"I whisper back.
"Because it'll cause my brother to get up and talk to you."
I smirk, "Why do you always want me to take my clothes off for him?"
She kinda laughed for a second, but remained serious, "Because you're the first girl he was really ever crazy about."
I blushed a little. Okay. I slip off my shoes, then slowly slip off my skirt, revealing almost everything. Good thing I shaved. Hope had put my hair up in a bun, not a messy one, just a wrapped one. My light golden skin was perfect for this bikini.
I put my skirt, my phone inside one of my shoes, and my skirt over it. Connor tried to keep his eyes off me, but couldn't. It was a little cute actually.
Austin came back shortly, handing me a beer, "Thanks."
He grins at me, "No problem."
My butt really popped out, like, POP! . I looked amazing in this bathing suit. I took a sip of my drink, looking away, smiling.
"We're going to sit Chris. You can join in you want", Hope offers.
          "Its cool."
I stood in front of them, looking away, silently drinking my beer. They three talked, Courtney stayed quiet.
I watched the people jump in the pool over and over again. There was corner steps right next to me where I was standing to go into the pool. I kinda wanna jump in.

_________
Connor's P.O.V.
I could tell Chris was really upset. She was on her sixth beer. She never drank that much before. She glances at me, her eyes dark, her eyelashes long. She put her empty bottle under the hammock to the left of mine. Her body was absolutely perfect.
Every little part of her was perfect, and she will never admit that. She usually has low self-esteem. And I don't know how. How can she even have low self esteem? She's gorgeous as fuck. Chris dived into the pool, making me refocus.
"Are you okay, babe?" Courtney pokes me, her legs now on my other leg.
I look up at her, smile, and nod, "Yea, I'm fine."
Courtney's hair was as blonde as straw. Her eyes were a cold, icy blue. It fit her personality really. I look down, gathering my thoughts. I should've never listened to my father when he said 'there will be a woman who you think is the one, but she's actually your devil.' Or something similar to that. Except, Courtney's the devil and I'm pretty sure Chris is the one. I didn't believe it at first. I couldn't handle the truth for three years.

I tried dating other people, I really did. None of them were her. At the beginning, I really liked Courtney. She was almost everything I wanted. She's intelligent, beautiful, ambitious, frank, passionate. Almost everything I wanted. Except, she could care less about people. She was selfish. She wasn't the one for me.

The one Christmas Chris and I spent together was at one of the homeless shelters. She wanted to help out cooking and serving. She even worked at a food bank for fun. No wonder she went into the medical field. She was perfect for it.

Zain believed it too. He didn't want to see me hurt. Zain and Hope despised Chris, but they seemed to like her not long after I started dating Courtney. I shook my head as soon as Courtney grabbed onto my thigh. She was on her phone. Hope and Austin left us to go to the mini bar.
The second I turned, there were whistles and some guys whistled at Chris as she made an exit out of the pool. She slowly walked back up the stairs she went into the pool on.
Her hair was perfectly slicked back, her makeup completely off. She looked better without any anyways. Water slowly dripped down her body, onto the concrete. Fuck.
Courtney turned my head towards her,  giving me a kiss, "I'm going to go get a drink, and then you can join me in the pool." I nodded.
She got up, her ponytail going down to her lower back, but she just put in extensions. Chris went to sit a few hammocks down. I got up, watching my step, and sat down next to her.
"Great party, huh?" I ask, sarcastically.  "Yea, I think I'm going to have a major hangover though", she says, her head down.
The blue towel in her lap, rolled up.
I smirk, "Well you can stay here. Hollis and Steve are letting party guests stay here tonight. It'll basically a free hotel."
She gives me her beautiful side smile, her teeth perfect, "I don't have any clothes."
"It's okay, you can borrow one of my shirts", I shrug, kind of smiling.
She yawned, her breath smelling like alcohol, her head leaning on my arm, "Okay.."
   "Okay", I whisper.
Courtney came back, rage in her eyes.
"Come find me when the party is over", I whisper into Chris's ear.
She nods briefly. I slip off the cloth, taking Courtney's hand, holding it with mine.
               "You okay?" I ask her.
She nods, "Yes, just want to spend some time with you. That's all."
"It's not like we never spend time together", I say under my breath.
  "What?"
 I shook my head, "Nothing."
I can't believe I had to marry her for some type of business deal my father made.
