I woke up being disturbed by the sun's rays shining through by blind illuminating my room. I groaned and harshly pulled my dull grey and black covers over my head, to try and hide my shameful bed hair, entering back into the world of darkness. I was interrupted by a timid knock on my blank white bedroom door. It was so soft I almost didn't hear it.
"Hey, you awake?" Charlotte asked shyly. Walking into our bedroom, treading lightly over the mountain of laundry, the knotted mess of wires and stack of sheet music.
"Yeah" I called back in return voice muffled, still staying engulfed by my duvet.
"I see you got back alright then?" She laughed sweetly.
"Just about. I think I may have went a bit over board last night" I said laughing, before groaning slightly. My head throbbing, my body aching.
"I think so too" Charlotte stepped closer to me and perched cautiously on the edge of the bed, trying not to disturb me too much. She placed her hand on the top of my head which was peering out of the top of my duvet, and began to move the stray pieces of hair out of my eyes. "I have never seen you like that before, usually it's you looking after me and taking me home not the other way around"
"Except this time you didn't take me home. You left me...at their house...by myself"
"But you were asleep so I thought I would just leave you be, I know what you're like when someone wakes you up. And plus it was only Noah's house and Emily was staying there to. What harm could they do to you?" I opened one eye slowly and raised my eyebrow at her.
Noah is a great mate, there is no doubt about that, but some times he can be a pain in the ass. The last time I slept at Noah's house involved me waking up with sharpie on my face and having to go to an interview in patches and outlines of things that I am not allowed to repeat.
The second time I found myself sleeping outside and still I do not know how on earth I got there, I wasn't even drunk. Charlotte began to find herself trying to contain a giggle and smiling as the pictures those events obviously flooding back into her mind.
I love it when she smiles. She has one of those smiles that can change your mood with just one look. Her smile has the right balance of genuine sweetness and the right touch of shyness and warmth that just rushes through you. This sensation of happiness was ended hastily. Her smile had disappeared and was replaced with a doubtful and fearful expression. She looked away and stared at the floor, moving her hand away from my face and holding it tightly in her lap. Her fingers gently intertwining with each other.
"I need to ask you this. But how much do you remember of last night?" She spoke quickly and flinching moderately as if she was offended by her own words, before pressing her lips together, trying to stop herself from speaking anymore.
"Not much" I lied. I remember everything that happened last night, every word, every mistake that I made. How am I going to live this one down. You really think that she will forgive you again?
"Ok." An uncomfortable silence followed. "Not being rude or anything, but you sound awful" Charlotte spoke with a concerned tone.
"Trust me I feel it. I feel really rough" I replied my voice hoarse, as I rubbed my head in pain, not daring to show my face or look at it.
Pain. This is legit the only thing that I can think of right now, as I try to use sleep as a pain killer, once more. I promised myself that I wouldn't but as usual I was too weak. I groaned once again, clutching my throbbing head.
"Aww bless you. You have a hang over" She said childishly ruffling my hair, making it worse than it already is.
"Shut up!" I groaned, swatting her away playfully.
