Rachael's POV
I get into Tyler's car and buckle up as he gets into the drivers seat. Tyler buckles up, turns on the car, and turns on the radio.
"Do you want the aux cord? Tyler asks me
"Um, sure." I say taking the aux cord out of his hand
"What kind of music do you want to listen to?" I ask Tyler
"Anything you want to listen to." Tyler says
"Okay." I say back to Tyler. I turn on the song Mr. Brightside by the killers.
"This is an old band. Do you know the song?" I ask Tyler
"Yes! The killers used to be my favorite band. My favorite song was 'Somebody Told Me'." Tyler says
"I have that song too. I'll turn it on after this song." I say to Tyler
"Okay." Tyler says back
"So, where were you wanting to go eat at?" I ask Tyler
"I was thinking somewhere in the gulch. Wanna go to Burger Republic?" Tyler asks me
"Burgers sound great." I say to Tyler
"Burgers it is then." Tyler says to me with a smile. We talk about school and what my life was like back in Sweden until we pull up to the burger place.
"Give me one sec." Tyler says turning off the car and running around the car to my side to open my door. As he is running over to my side of the car, he kind of trips over the curb and almost falls. He opens up my door, and I try to conceal my laughter.
"Are you okay?" I say to Tyler
"Yeah, I'm good. I just kinda tripped over myself a little bit." Tyler says laughing
"As long as you're good." I say laughing too. We walk inside and we get seated, and I text Filip to let him know that I got here safely. We order our food and drinks and while we are waiting, I bring up the tickets.
"So, did you ever end up getting those tickets for your brother yet?" I ask him taking a sip of my water
"No luck yet, those tickets can be so expensive!" Tyler says to me
"Well, you're in luck then." I say to Tyler with a smile on my face
"And why is that?" Tyler asks me with a smile on his face
"Well, it just so happens that I have two tickets right in front of the ice and I don't have anyone to give them to." I say with a smile
"Oh wow, that sounds like a real predicament." Tyler says to me
"It really is. I can't find anyone to give them to." I say to Tyler
"Well, I know this guy you can give them to." Tyler says to me
"What is he like?" I ask Tyler
"Well, he's in our grade, he's in all of our classes, he has a brother that's turning eighteen, and he looks just like me." Tyler says to me with a smile on his face.
"Well, I guess we found our lucky ticket holder." I say to Tyler win a smile on my face
"Thanks Rachael!" Tyler says
"You're welcome." I say to Tyler. Just then, our food comes out. When we get done eating, I text Filip and let him know that we are on our way to the park. We get into Tyler's car and he gives me the aux cord again. This time, I turn on 'Gives You Hell" by the All American Rejects. It doesn't take long at all to get from the burger place to the park. We go to Centennial Park where the Parthenon is.
"Where do you wanna walk?" I ask Tyler as he opens up my door for me again. He reaches into the trunk and grabs a blanket for us to sit on too. While he is doing that, I text Filip and let him know we're at the park.
"There is a little walk way over there with a bench and then there is a playground at the end of it. Then I was thinking we could go sit on the grass and just hang out." Tyler says
"Sounds good to me." I say to Tyler. We start walking down the walkway, and Tyler reaches out to hold my hand. I don't think that holding hands, necessarily means you're dating. I think it's harmless. Now, Tyler and I are holding hand walking to the playground.
"This is so cool." I say to Tyler
"I know, I love coming out here at night. When there isn't anybody around and it's just really quiet, ya know?" Tyler says. We walk a little further, and then I see that park that he is taking about. I let go of his hand and start running towards the swing set. My inner kid comes out too easily.
"Come push me!" I yell to Tyler. Tyler runs over to the swing sets and goes behind me and starts pushing me. After a minute of him doing that, he sat down on the swing next to me. I slow my self down so that we are going the same pace so that we can talk. He tells me about his family and his two brothers and two sisters. I told him about Filip, but I used Filip's real first name, Carl, and I told him that we moved here because my mom wanted us to explore new places.
"Wow, your mom seems really cool. To bad I can't meet her." Tyler says
"Yeah, it would be great to see her every day, but I still talk to her on the phone a lot." I say to Tyler
"Well, do you want to go set up the blanket?" Tyler asks
"Sure." I say with a smile. Tyler and I stand up and he holds my hand again as we go find a spot to put the blanket down on the grass. We finally find a spot that we like, and we put the blanket down and lie down on it.
"The stars are so pretty." I say to Tyler
"Tell me about it." Tyler says. Tyler sits up and supports himself with him forearm.
"So, what did you think when I kissed you last week?" Tyler asks me. Here we go again with the damn kiss.
"What about it?" I ask Tyler still looking up at the stars
"Was it good, was it bad?" Tyler asks me
"It was good I guess." I say to Tyler. Tyler got quiet for a minute then laid back down.
"What did you think of it?" I ask breaking the awkward silence
"I thought it was really good. Look Rachael, I really like you. Wether you know that already or not." Tyler's says to me
"Yeah, I've kinda noticed." I say laughing a little bit. Tyler laughs too, slightly. Tyler moves closer and closer to me as the night moves on, and eventually, we're almost touching shoulders. Tyler sits up again, like he was before, and looks at me. He leans in and kisses me again, and this time, I kiss him back.
"Was that any better?" Tyler asks me
"A lot better, actually." I say back to him smiling. He leans in and kisses me again, and I eventually end up pulling away and laying back on the blanket looking up at the stars.
