School on Monday is kind of awkward. After Jace and I made out Saturday night, I made sure I was home before Jace woke up. I had just had my first kiss--which turned into a minor make out session--with one of my best friends. Forgive me if I wanted to avoid the awkwardness that would probably have come with it.

When I get out of the car with Tessa, Jessamine, and Maia, I immediately look around to make sure Jace isn't around. My plan is to avoid him as much as I can. So, I adjust my sweatshirt and grab my backpack before starting to head inside.

On my way to me locker, a hand is placed on my shoulder. I jump and turn around, seeing Jace there. "Hey Clary," he says as he starts walking with me. "Sorry to scaring you," he says with a light smirk and nudges my shoulder slightly.

I just wasn't expecting you.

"So, are we gonna talk about Saturday? Because you avoided my texts all day yesterday and the look in your eyes says you were trying to avoid me today."

What's there to talk about?

Jace raises his eyebrows at me. "Well, I was thinking we'd talk about what we are."

We're just good friends who shared a kiss. I don't know what else to say. We both know you're a player and I just don't know if we could ever truly be something. I wait for him to finish reading as we walk slowly.

"If you insist, but I was actually hoping you'd say something different," Jace says, making me laugh slightly.

Are you still on that vendetta from three months ago? I ask with a slight, playful smile.

He smirks slightly. "Who can tell?" He places his arm around my shoulder--in the friendly way--as he continues. "But hey, why don't we ditch school today. Y'know, for old time's sake."

'Old time's sake' was three months ago. I laugh slightly but nod my head. But why not. It's not like I have any tests today.

Jace smiles at me. "That's the spirit Red. I'm so glad I rubbed off on you.

I smile as I type more. Is there a specific plan or are we just doing whatever the hell comes to mind?

A smirk returns to his face. "Oh, I've got an idea." He grabs my hand and pulls me the other way, towards the parking lot. I shriek slightly as I almost slip on ice, but Jace pulls me up again.

I get pulled into his car, and he drives off. Once we're about a mile away from the school, Jace pulls over and pulls out his cell phone. "How does your foster father talk?"

Low voice, kind of rough.

Jace nods before he dials a number and presses the phone to his ear. "Hello, Mrs Carstairs. It's Luke Garroway here." I almost laugh at how spot on his impression of Luke is. "I'm calling to let you know that Clarissa won't be coming in to school today. She's been throwing up since late last night and has a fever." I can hear the voice on the other end before Jace says, "I'll tell her that as soon as she wakes up. Thank you for your time." He turns to me and says (in his normal voice), "Mrs Carstairs hopes you'll get well soon and that she'll see you at school tomorrow."

I start laughing at how perfect that all was while Jace starts driving again. We stop again ten minutes later and Jace turns to me. "Don't get out of the car, don't look anyone who walks by in the eye, and do not unlock the door for anyone but me. Okay?"

Once I nod, he gets out of the car, waiting for me to lock the door before going inside. While I wait for him, I link my phone up to the car and start listening to Ruelle's album Up in Flames. I start to smile as my favorite song my Ruelle comes on.

(Please tell me if the audio works because it's not on my phone. And I did not choose this all because of Malec, I'm actually obsessed with Ruelle😁)

While the song plays, I hum along silently. Humming is the only time I ever make much noise. At first, it was a way to stay sane. Now, it's a habit. Of course, it's just humming the melody. It would probably sound awful if I ever tried to actually sing.

After that song ends I switch it over to Crossfire by Stephen:

The song's about halfway done when Jace gets back to the car. He knocks on the window and I unlock the car, letting him open the backseat door and putting a black, somewhat battered, backpack on the seat.

What's in there? I ask, eyeing the backpack suspiciously.

Jace smiles knowingly at her. "You'll see," he says smugly as he buckles his own seatbelt and starts to drive. I smile slightly as I shake my head and face forward.

He lets me keep my Spotify hooked up and we listen to Borderline (the Vanic remix) and Twenty Øne Pilots while we drive. We drive to Central Park and Jace stops the car, getting out and grabbing the backpack. He looks at me before he closes the door and smirks. "You coming? Or are you just gonna sit in here while I have all the fun."

I smile sweetly at him before I jokingly give him the middle finger and get out of the car. I walk along side him as we walk through the park. Jace leads me to a secluded part of the park enclosed by trees and large rocks.

I sit on one of the rocks while Jace crouches of the ground and opens the backpack. You gonna tell me what's in the bag now?

He looks up at me and smirks. He pulls out some beer, a glass bong, some brownies, and a bag of something green. He holds a brownie and the bag up as he looks up at me, the smirk still on his face. "Ever tried pot?"

I'M BAAAAAAACK!

The reason I did not update is in one of my completed stories, I'm Not What I Seem, under the chapter 'Vote for a Story!'. So, if you haven't already, read that story and vote on that chapter.

Yup.

That was an awkward request to read my stuff...

Sometimes I want to die simply to end my awkwardness...

But I'm stuck with it for now! So, hope you guys liked it and the next chapter will be a little more detailed.

See ya!-Bella
