Degree tossed Frisk into the snow and growled.
"We finally meet in a sober state human!" Degree yelled in a triumphant tone.
Frisk held their soul fearfully as Degree began a fight. She eyed Frisk's soul hungrily.
Unlike some other fights, Frisk was put into more direct battle. Consisting of bites, scratches and only a smidgen of magic.
Frisk lay tired in the snow, they could feel their soul breaking. Zombie finally was able to get out of the snow poff and push Degree to the side.
"The kid is harmless I swear!" She pleaded to Degree as she held the soul in her grasp.
"B- but I saw it! I saw what it does!" Degree said in an innocent tone. Zombie shook her head and took the soul from Degree. "Harmless." Zombie promptly gave Frisk their soul back and helped them up. "Come, I can make you something to eat." Zombie said softly. Degree followed behind half embarrassed and half wary of the child that had gained Zombie's friendship approval.
The house Zombie and Degree lived in was tiny. Almost half the size of the skelebros' house and only one bedroom.
There was a small dining table in the kitchen and the couch took up the majority of the downstairs. There was a hammock hanging over it where degree obviously would sit most often. It was littered with stains and cuts in the fabric.
Zombie placed a plate of what looked like rice and some sort of glowing sauce over top. Frisk was hesitant to try it in fear that she had the same cooking skills as Papyrus.
"Thanks mate." Degree said happily while slurping up the meal. Frisk looked over to Degree whom stopped eating and glared. Wiping off her face and picking up the spoon next to her.
Zombie sat down and reached into her pocket while scratching her cheek bone. She pulled out a lower jaw and clicked it onto her skull.
Frisk looked at Zombie somewhat disgusted and glanced to Degree whom was slurping the food awkwardly from her spoon.
"Oh I'm thorry if it weirths you outh." Zombie blubbered. Frisk looked back to Degree confused. Degree grumbled and rolled her eyes. "She said she's sorry f it weirds you out. She puts on her lower jaw only when she eats. If she don't say anything when you're eating you won't have a problem."
Frisk nodded slowly and glanced to Zombie before picking up their fork. Placing a small bit of food into it and hesitantly taking a bite.
It was delicious.
"I made ith outh of the muthroomth in watherfall."
Zombie struggled while Frisk piled more food into their mouth.
Frisk looked up from their plate to see that Zombie's lower jaw was oddly loose. Hanging off her face like a broken door. They got up after shovelling their last bite into their mouth and walked behind Zombie. Taking off her jaw, letting the contents drip back onto her plate.
"Hey dude that's gross." Degree complained while dropping her spoon on her plate and crossing her arms. Frisk looked over the jaw to see a portion was poorly taped to keep it together.
Frisk pulled the piece of tape off and pulled apart Zombie's jaw. Degree sighed and got up.
"That's fine I already ate a little while ago." She hissed while taking Frisk's plate and tossing it into the sink with her own.
"She's just a little grumpy. Don't worry she'll warm right up to you in sure of it."
Zombie said while cleaning off her lower jaw and taping it back together. "What happened?" Frisk asked as Zombie placed her jaw back in her pocket.
"Oh... Well it's embarrassing to talk about."
Zombie replied while taking her plate to the sink. The cupboard beneath it was decorated with stickers and little drawings. In fact a majority of the walls were happily decorated.
Degree rambled down the stairs from the bedroom and jumped into the hammock from the stairs.
"I know the story, I'll tell you if she's too chicken."
Zombie sighed and sat down on the couch angrily as Degree cleared her throat. "Well, first she... Then she... But wait she.... Oh nevermind." Degree said in a regretful tone. Her tongue was tied by the disappointed look on Zombie's face.
"Maybe I'll tell you another time." Zombie said happily while getting back up. Degree nuzzled her face into the hammock and closed her eyes.
"Okay frisk, let's take you back to Sans and Papyrus." Zombie stuttered flustered. Frisk shook their head and sat on the floor. "Why not?" Degree asked rolling over and scratching her feathered head.
"Can I stay here?" Frisk asked happily. They were adamant on staying to become companions with the awkward duo.
"Oh... Well... I don't know. Degree?" Zombie turned to Degree. Degree waved her hand willy nilly as a sign of acceptance. "One night. That's it." Degree mumbled. Zombie chuckled and nodded. "You got it boss."
She said in a serious tone.
