Frisk had left a while ago, Papyrus was with Undyne cooking at her home. Sans was at Grillby's with Zombie. Degree was at home sleeping.
"So. How's your head?" Grillby crackled as Zombie chewed on a fry. She sputtered and looked up. "It's good. How's yours?" She asked. Realizing the idiocy of her question she leaned her head down and Sans laughed. Grillby chuckled and patted her shoulder. "Where's Degree?" He asked. "She's trying to quit her drinking habit. She's been sleeping lots." Zombie replied. Grillby nodded and turned away to fix the cups. His left hand on the counter. Zombie looked at it shaking and reached for it. Papyrus burst through the door of Grillby's and he turned around. Zombie pulled her hand away before he noticed it. "SANS COME! WE ARE GOING TO SEE FRISK!" Sans looked back and smiled. "EVERYONE COME!" Papyrus continued. Grillby clapped his hands and headed for the door. Everyone else in the restaurant obliging.
Zombie wanted to get up but thought that if Degree got up and couldn't find her would wig out. "Cmon Zom, let's go." Sans said happily. Zombie obliged after this light prod and followed closely behind.
Degree woke up alone. She assumed Zombie must've gone to Grillby's and go out of the hammock. Stretching and grabbing one of her last Cigars, Degree left hoping to catch Zombie and see if she wanted help with anything.
Degree walked into town but it was surprisingly vacant. Degree's stomach dropped and she looked around nervously. "Bah it's probably nothing. If this was a reset... I'd be dead!" She joked while skulking through town, Coming up to Grillby's.
Degree walked in and smiled nervously as she was in there alone.
"Heh heh, very funny guys... Come out now."
She whimpered. Degree looked around the bar and into the kitchen but there was no one to be found. Degree scratched at her face angrily and walked out the door, checking each and every building in Snowdin to come up empty handed.
"Where have they all gone..." Degree sniffled while looking about. She sat in the middle of town and picked at her toes. Looking up when she heard someone approach.
"Hey pal." Sans said casually. Degree looked up shocked and afraid. "Is this... Are they all..." Sans shook his head and smiled. "Cmon, let's go." Degree got up shaking and followed sans to the river person's boat.
"Hop in, wanna get out of here!" The river person chuckled while letting Degree on.
"We waited a little bit for you but you were knocked clean out." Sans chuckled. Degree nodded looked down at the water. Her reflection quavering. "You seem happy." Degree looked back over as Sans sighed pleased. "Oh?" He replied. Degree nodded. "Well... I just met the most dynamite gal. I mean we've spoken before but never in person."
He said while gaining a faint blush on his face. "You mean that person I see you talking through the door to all the time?" Degree chuckled. Sans looked up surprised and laughed. "Yep."
Degree was about to say more but was cut off by obnoxious yelling. "WAIT WAIT! CMON WAIT! I NEED A RIDE!"
Sans looked over to see a small Sprite cheering from one of the banks of waterfall.
"I only stop in hotland and Snowdin!" The river person yelled over. The Sprite looked desperately at Sans and he sighed.
"No wait, stop. Let the munchkin get on." He mumbled. Degree agreed and the river person hissed, turning the boat to the bank and Degree clawing the earth so the boat would stop.
"Well gee thanks!" The tiny Sprite sneezed and grew.
"The name is Wisp. And before you ask I'm very important. I work for Mettaton. Also I'm a close personal friend of Frisk the human!"
Sans nodded slowly and crossed his arms. Degree took the small bag the well dressed Sprite had in their hands. "I'm so excited to go to the surface aren't you?! So many humans!" The Sprite blubbered the entire way. The river person seeming almost twice as annoyed as Sans and Degree.
"Finally. Now get off!" The river person yelled while getting off the boat and shoving the three off along with them. "Here." Degree said while handing Wisp their bag. "Thanks." They said casually. Growing twice their original size. Becoming quite the figure.
"Cmon Deggo, Zombie has been waiting for you outside with Grillby."
Degree turned pale realizing where they were going. Outside.
Degree picked up sans and the river person. Passing Wisp whom grabbed her tail and crawled onto her back.
Degree raced through the empty palace. Coming up to the exit of the underground. Degree walked through slowly. Letting go of the three monsters she had grabbed along the way.
"Degree!" Zombie said happily as the sun stung Degree's eyes. "Woah." She said as the world splayed before her.
"Come sit. We've just been chilling here for a while." Zombie said while getting Degree to sit down. "I'm gonna go catch up to the others. You comin'?" Sans asked. Zombie shook her head and smiled. "I'll come." The river person chuckled while skipping down the path.
"I'll watch them." Grillby said happily.
Degree chuckled as Zombie sighed. Looking down at her toes to see a buttercup stuck between her scarlet claws.
"Here." Degree smiled while handing Zombie the flower. Zombie smiled and turned to Grillby. Patting him on the shoulder and shoving the flower in his face. Grillby looking down surprised nodded. Taking the flower and letting it burn in his hand. Zombie looked at him in shock and he took her hand. She rattled her bones and wheezed relieved.
"The kid did it." Degree chuckled while staring out at the vast land. "Frisk sure did." Zombie replied. Wisp chuckled and leaned against a tree casually.
