Dear Veronica,
(^saying that sounds so weird, but way, way better than 'dear diary')
Oh my god, you wouldn't believe what happened. I cannot believe it myself.
So, it was a rare lazy day. The class was tired, exhausted for some unknown reason and half of the staff was absent. The teachers who did come, did not teach anything. Our lovely English ma'am decided to show us a movie in campus. It was a movie we'd seen a few times before, but no one particularly cared. We just wanted some free, private time. Or time to snooze, like Robin. Whatever we wanted to do. Just not study.
Not like we ever studied in English class.
I was thirsty and went back to class to get my bottle. The door was slightly ajar. I opened it, slowly, and I was surprised for two reasons:
1. THE DOOR DID NOT CREAK FOR THE FIRST TIME.
2. Laura... Laura was there!
She was in the second bench, lying down, her long hair facing me. She was scribbling mindlessly, but she was also humming. Then I realized, holy shit, she was singing. She sounded good. A bit too soft for my liking, but good.
Slowly the song came to an end, and I said, "Nice job."
She jumped, startled. She looked at me. "Thank you." She mumbled, too quickly. Those brown eyes flickered back onto the ground and smiled. The silence settled between us, like fog and it grew uncomfortable and awkward. As I was about to leave, she said something so soft that I almost missed it.
"How was the ice cream?"
I turned, and smirked to her curious eyes. "Quite good, thank you."
She smiled now, crinkles formed in her eyes and they glistened. Her eyes spoke volumes, laced with gratitude and happiness, perhaps? Her smiled formed a kickass perfect curve, and she looked like an angel.
"Anytime," She replied, louder and more confident, this time around. As I went back to class, two thoughts came into mind:
Funny how that was all she needed, to break free.
And funny how that was all I needed, to fall in love.
P.S – On the other hand, I forgot about the water. Lol. I'm such a fool.
