Dear diary,
In assembly, a prefect announced that all the 10th graders were to assemble in the AV Room (the biggest room we had, besides the auditorium) after assembly. As soon as assembly ended, the corridors were filled with more commotion than ever. It was a Monday and it was better than attending our first period – Chemistry. No one gives a shit about him or his subject anyway.
It's no wonder why everyone hates Chemistry. He's a sadist, and in order to increase just half a mark, we need to go through an hour of begging, puppy eyes, tears (not compulsory) and hearing his stupid lectures. Makes you want to get beatings from Mom than ask him for half mark extra.
By the time we went there, the room was 3/4th filled. Robin quickly grabbed a three-bencher, where we would have to squeeze. Luckily, Tom got a place near his other friend, so we sat in comfort.
Andrew was in a good mood today and he was all smiles. He's acting so weird these days.
Suddenly, the door banged open, making the thin walls shake and the dumb paintings almost fall off. A very huge, disgusting and rude woman stood in the doorway. As she made her way to the front of the room, two tiny 6th graders trotted behind her, holding a bundle of papers, which were in fact very heavy. The class fell to a pin drop silence, which wasn't so rare.
This lady was one of the most hated teachers of the school. And she wasn't even a teacher. She worked in the reception, but somehow had more rights and salary than most of the other teachers, which wasn't fair. Our management is batshit crazy for appointing people like her and Chemistry sir, besides a ton of others. They are useless and downright sadists.
She stood in front of us, and the front benchers bent as far as they could, desperately trying to escape from the giant.
"Students, as you know every year, we do an annual Suggestions session, yes?"
The class was silent. Andrew scribbled something on the bench and nudged me.
Look at the poor 6th graders :/
They were still holding the papers, which were nearly half their height, and they looked like they could faint anytime soon.
"So today, for a whole one hour, you are going to write your suggestions for the improvement of the school, on one page."
I sighed in relief, hoping at least now she will relieve the kids of their pain but no. she smirked at the kids, and turned back to us and proceeded to bullshit about how she doesn't want any middle fingers drawn on like last time.
I steal a glance at Robin, who was smirking. It was us who did it last time. Hahahaha.
Then, her huge tab rings, and she answers. "Sir... yes, sir. I'll be right there." She makes another call to another staff member, asking them to take her place here. A silent buzz generated in the room of excitement.
She FINALLY instructed the kids to keep the papers down, and they did almost immediately, a small smile of relief growing on their faces. She instructed someone in the first bench to distribute the papers.
She hurried out of the room, and the kids ran back to their classes. The class fell back into chaos, everyone talking as loud as the other. Andrew started ranting about what a bitch she was, for almost killing the kids and I listened without interruption.
Tom bent forward and asked what we should do this time. All the possibilities raced through my mind.
Suddenly, a wisp of vanilla-smelling perfume filled me. A jingle of bangles danced in my ears. I looked up, to see a girl with caramel eyes which I couldn't forget since that day, and a long, loose braid with a thin highlight loomed over me, distributing papers. She met my gaze, a small flicker of recognition clicked in her eyes, and she hurried to the bench behind.
I couldn't move. She was stunning. Andrew and Robin were discussing if they draw emojis on this time, but I couldn't breathe.
Holy shit, she's our school kept repeating in my mind. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.
I was elated, and I saw her sit back in the first bench, wondering what to do, when she spoke to someone next to her.
The whole period I kept looking at her. I didn't know why, but my gaze kept bouncing back to her.
And once again, all the possibilities raced in my head. Along with a million other questions.
But my ecstasy earned me a weird look from Tom (idc anyway) and I wrote a few suggestions and drew a master piece of hell, uh, our school on it. Robin stuck to drawing detailed middle fingers. Andrew drew on the whole page and tom filled the whole page with suggestions.
Its 10 PM and I still cannot forget the way our contact met. She was so beautiful. My stomach was flurry.
Holy shit, I'm going mad.
