I looked out the window at the huge city in front of me. Having a hotel room facing Times Square was great, if paparazzi weren't crowded outside, on top of screaming fans. I was in New York for the VMA's and I was staying here for a week. I was with Jess and Kenzie, who were out at the moment with Allie and Colson. They asked if I wanted to go but I'd rather stay in instead of being followed all day. I heard the door open and everyone come running in the room. I went to see them, since I hadn't since this morning, and it was almost 6 now.

"Mommy!" Allie screamed and ran for me. She gave me a huge hug, Colson following her.

"How was shopping with Aunt Kenzie and Jess?"

"Great! We got so much!" she said. I looked at Kenzie.

"What? I couldn't say no to that face." I laughed. No one could.

"Why don't you guys show me what you got."

We sat there until it was time to get them ready for bed. I put Allie and Colson in their room and shut the door behind me. I went to sit with the girls and of course Jess started talking first.

"So, I think you should write a book."

"What? Where the hell did you get this idea from?"

"You've been through a lot, and I think it be for you and your career. I know some publishers that could look at it once your done. At least think about it?"

"Fine." she sighed and went to her room.

"So...Dub's gonna come over here and hang out for a little..."

"Dub's in New York?"

"Yeah, he just got here today." I nodded.

"I think I'm gonna go lay down. I have to be there early tomorrow."

"Okay. I'm so happy you get to perform." I smiled.

"So am I. It's what I've always wanted to do."

"Well go get some sleep." I walked to my room and laid down. I was performing my new song tomorrow, which is a song I wrote a couple years ago, after I left.

Me and Colson haven't actually talked since I left for California. I was only there for about 2 weeks. Once I got back, Jess already had a house bought for me down the street a little. Even when he'd want the kids, he sent Slim to pick them up. I liked seeing Slim though. I still talked to the boys sometimes. I never hung out with them like we used to though. Allie and Colson were 4 now, but they didn't seem bothered by the fact that 'mommy and daddy' weren't together anymore. Allie seemed to like asking more questions though. She seemed to notice that I got upset or nervous when she asked. Colson was just happy to see both of us.

I woke up the next morning, thanks to Kenzie letting the sun in. I sat up and saw that Dub was in the room. I jumped up and ran over to give him a hug.

"It's good to see you Sky."

"Same for you Dub. I've missed you."

"You need to get ready. You have to be there in two hours. Then once you're done there you have to come back and get ready to go to the actual show." Jess rushed in the room with my bag. I took it from her and went to get in the shower. Once I got out I put on a crop top and some yoga leggings. I put on the chucks I had been wearing just about everyday. I let my hair air dry and left.

Me, Jess, Kenzie, and Dub pulled up to where the VMA's were being held this year, in Brooklyn.

"This is gonna be amazing." I said as I stared at the building.

"Yeah, if we get in there on time. Let's go!" Jess said, hurrying into the building.

"Is it just me or did she get way more bossy than last time I saw her?"

"It's not just you Dub." I laughed as we walked into the building.

"That was great. Everyone did an amazing job." Kenzie said as she walked on stage. I said bye to the dancers and walked over to Kenzie.

"Yeah, this place is amazing. I can't wait for later. Where's Dub?"

"He went to find someone. He's on his way to the stage." I looked out at the seats and saw Dub walking down the aisle with Slim behind him.

"SLIM!" I took off towards where he was. I attacked him, giving him a hug.

"Skylar, did you miss me?"

"Yeah! I wasn't expecting you to be here!" he laughed as I pulled away from the hug. They continued talking and I went to sit in the front row, looking at the stage. I guess I zoned out a little because I didn't notice Slim sit down next to me.

"I'm proud of you Sky. We all are. You deserve to be performing on that stage."

"Thanks.."

"You know, Casie asks where you are all the time." I immediately felt tears in my eyes. I missed her so much. It was hard not seeing her anymore. I haven't seen her since the day I left.

"I miss her. So much.."

"You're missed by everyone back at the house. And at Kenzie and Dub's." I laughed. I looked back up at the stage.

"I have a question Slim.."

"Ask away."

"Does he hate me? For leaving without more notice? I mean, I wouldn't blame him. I threw it all at him at once."

"No. It took him a really, really long time, but he understands why you did it now. He-"

"Don't say it. Please." he nodded, understanding I was done talking about him.

"We gotta go. Maybe I'll see you later at the show."

"Of course. See you later."

COLSON'S POV

I was sitting in the hotel room, staring at the ceiling. All of the boys were here, but Dub and Slim were in Brooklyn. I didn't see a point in me going. I heard the door open and they walked in.

"Hey, Kells, come here for a sec." Slim said. I got up and sat on the couch.

"What's up?"

"Guess who I talked to."

"I'm not playin' no damn guessing game. Who was it?"

"Skylar..." I sat up a little.

"What'd you talk to her about?"

"Casie, the show, you."

"Me?"

"Yeah, she thinks you hate her for what happened Kells. I told her though, that it took a while." I nodded. I can't believe she thinks that. I could never hate her. I miss her to be honest. I still love her. I never stopped all these years. I was hoping she might come back after a year or something, but it's been three.

"So, what are you gonna do?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I know you want her back."

"But if she doesn't want me back, what am I supposed to do?"

"Win her back." he said and got up. I sighed, not knowing if it was worth it. I got up to start getting ready. Once everyone was ready, we left. I wasn't ready to possibly run into Sky though...
