Chapter 5

We were going home today, which I was kind of sad about because I was really enjoying New York. I was missing home though. Colson, Ash, and the boys left, which left me, Kenzie, Allie, and Colson. I had fun hanging out with Colson the other night, but I still hadn't told Kenzie about it. Me and Kenzie were in my room packing while the twins napped.

"So why have you been in such a good mood lately?"

"No reason really. I can't just be in a good mood sometimes?"

"I just figured-"

"What, that something happened with us?"

"Well?"

"We went to iHop and talked, that's it really." she didn't say anything else and continued packing. We left a couple hours after we packed and we dropped the twins off at Colson's before we went to the house. Kenzie helped me unpack then left to go see Dub before they left. Colson was doing a couple shows in Flordia and would be gone for a couple weeks so he was spending time with the twins before he left. I heard the doorbell and hurried to go answer it. I opened the door and immediately looked up at his bright blue eyes.

"Hey, thanks for letting me see them before I left." he smiled down at me. 

"Of course. Have fun in Florida, tell the boys I said bye."

"About that.." oh no, I knew what was coming. "Would you wanna come with us and sing for me? It's all business. And your parents could watch them." he laughed and pointed at the twins. I knew Jess would encourage it which is really the only reason I considered it. He was growing impatient as I made up my mind.

"Fine. When are we leaving?"

"In a couple hours." I nodded and he gave me a hug before he left, which was really awkward for both of us. Once he left I packed things for me and the twins, and called my parents who were more than happy to babysit. I went on twitter once I got a chance to sit down and saw a tweet from Colson that put me in a weird mood for what seemed like the rest of the day.

I can tell things are never gonna be the same between us...

I sighed as my mom walked in, looking for us. She sat down next to me and just smirked at me. 

"What?" I said, slightly annoyed.

"So, when did you start talking to Colson again?"

"We aren't 'talking' and we saw each other in New York after the VMA's. And I'm only doing a couple shows then coming home and hopefully everything goes back to normal."

"I don't think it will. You can try to come off as annoyed as you want but I saw that smile when you were talking just now."

"Whatever. I have to get my stuff. He'll be here in a couple minutes." I went upstairs to get my bags and as soon as I stepped off the last step he beeped outside. I said bye to everyone and walked outside. He was leaning against the side of the car and smiled when I walked out. Kenzie rolled her window down and waved. I laughed and Colson came to grab my bags. 

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, we're going on a road trip!" he said as he closed the trunk.

"Oh..this should be intersting." I laughed and he opened the passenger door, waiting for me to get in. I blushed a little as he closed the door and went to get in the drivers side. Kenzie kicked my seat and I turned around to see a smirk on her face. I rolled my eyes and got comfortable. 

We were in the car, and we had just crossed the border for North Carolina. I had fallen asleep the second we started driving. I woke up and heard an unfamiliar song. I guess he saw the confused look on my face.

"What's wrong?"

"What is this song?"

"Baddest, it's on Black Flag. You've heard it right?"

"Oh, sure. I just haven't listened to this one.." I listened to the words and just smiled when I heard the one line. And you are not a girl, you're a goddess. Us against the world girl I got us...

"What now?" he smirked.

"Nothing..I like this song." I just smiled up at him. He started rapping the rest of the song, and Slim woke up and joined him. I didn't notice we stopped until I looked out the window.

"Where are we?"

"Myrtle Beach. We wanted to take a break from driving and we all agreed to stop here. We would've asked you but we didn't wanna wake you." Dub said from the backseat. Me and Kenzie hurried and got out of the car and ran to the beach. The boys followed and grabbed us before we could reach the water. Once we all sat down, we just talked for what seemed like forever. By the time we were walkin back to the car the sun was setting. Colson grabbed me and carried me back over by the beach. Dub did the same to Kenzie only farther down.

"Colson what are you doing?"

"Just stay here and watch the sunset with me." I just did as he said, since I wasn't really in a hurry. It was getting cooler since it was windy and I shivered a little since all I had on was some shorts and a tank top. He took off his hoodie and threw it over my shoulders.

"You didn't have to Colson."

"Yes I did, you're cold." I laughed and stood up. "Where are you going?"

"The sun's been gone for about 5 minutes, let's get going." he nodded and followed me back to the car. We ended up staying at a hotel, where everyone else met us. The boys got their own room and me, Kenzie, and Ash got our own. We walked down the hallway slowly. Once we got to the boys room, it got awkward since Dub and Kenzie were the only ones kissing and hugging.  Colson cleared his throat and I looked up.

"We're leaving at like 1 tomorrow. You wanna hang out before that?"

"Uh, I guess. Nothing else to do." he smiled and went in their room. We walked down to our room and I fell on the couch.  Ash sat down on the chair by me and sighed.

"What's up Skylar?"

"Oh, nothing. I'm just tired." Kenzie was walking through the main room and stopped when she heard me say that. I sat up and waited for it.

"Whatever. You should have seen your face. You may be tired but that's not all. You miss him!" she teased me. I shook my head and walked to my room. I laid down and fell asleep immediately for once.

When I woke up, I thought I was at home because I felt people jumping on my bed and I thought one of them was the dog. I opened my eyes and saw the boys all spread out on my bed.

"Sure guys, make yourselves comfortable." they all jumped and looked back at me.

"Oh sorry Sky, we didn't mean to wake you up." Rookie said.

"No, it's fine. I'm supposed to have plans for today anyways."

"Oh, someone has a date."

"No, me and Colson are just hanging out. As friends." I smacked him in the head as I walked past. I got in the shower and picked something out that would be fine for anything we did, since he didn't tell me. I heard the door open so I finished getting ready. When I walked out he smiled and walked over to me.

"So, what are we doing today?"

"You'll see when we get there."
