I heard my phone ringing and groaned. I grabbed my phone and answered, already knowing who it was. I've been home for a week now and Colson was calling every day to check up on me and make sure I was okay. I appreciated it, but it got annoying after the second time he called..a day.
"Colson, I'm fine. Thanks for calling though."
"I just need to make sure. You know how I am." I laughed and sighed.
"Yeah, I know Colson."
"Well...I'll let you go so you can go do whatever."
"Okay, talk to you when you call later." I smirked.
"Whatever. Bye Skylar."
"Bye Colson." I smiled as I hung up the phone. I liked how caring he was being honestly. He wasn't really like this before. I got dressed, carefully, and went downstairs. I walked in the kitchen and Kenzie was already here and had the kids eating. She smiled up at me as I walked in.
"How you feeling? You still sore?"
"Not really. When I get dressed it's a little bad. Other than that I'm fine." she nodded and sat down at the table with her food. I got myself some food, then went for a walk. I went to the doctor after Kenzie convinced me it would be a good idea, and he said walking would help with the pain. I walked around the neighborhood, saying hi when I saw people outside. On my way back, I passed the house and slowed a little. I stopped once I reached the other side of the driveway. I looked at the house, being tempted to go visit, but I decided against it. I knew I just had to go home and go on with my day like normal. I went upstairs and got my notebook. I wrote in it for a couple hours. I thought about Jess and the book I was supposed to be attempting to write. She said it should have some type of message. I grabbed my laptop and tried writing my "letter" to everyone reading. I've read other books with some sort of opening like this, and I didn't know where else to start.
Dear Readers,
These past few years of my life have been life-changing to say the least. If you've been following me and my music, or you're one of those fans who know everything you think there is, there's probably more than you think. Yes, I used to date Machine Gun Kelly. Yes, I have two kids. Yes, I am signed to Bad Boy. But the news and media don't show the darker side to everything. My life isn't perfect, and neither am I. I don't want to write this to get sympathy from anyone; I don't need or want it. This is all behind me and everyone I choose to surround myself with now. This is to set the record straight for a lot of things, and give you all reasons for the things you've heard or not heard about maybe. But, not everything that happened is my business to tell. It's personal to other people in my life, and those things will be left out. You might know one day, but today's not that day. This is a chance to get a look into my life and I hope by the end of this book, you learn a thing or two. If not, I hope you enjoy it.
I reread it and emailed it to Jess to see what she thought. She already knew what couldn't be said. Even if I asked Colson, I wouldn't have an answer soon enough, so he could tell the public when he wanted to. I didn't know how to continue this book, but when the time came I guess I'd know.
It was November and everyone was coming over for Thanksgiving. I knew I wouldn't have room for everyone, so Colson offered to have everyone over his place today. I got everyone ready and we drove down the street. My parents got there when we did. We walked in together and we started cooking. The boys were sleeping when we got there, but they woke up as the food started cooking and they could smell it. We cooked breakfast too, since no one had eaten yet. Colson watched me cook as he ate. He looked worried, which I didn't think he had any reason to be.
