We pulled up to a different part of the beach, and I saw that no one else was there. He ran over to my side of the car and opened the door. I got out and waited for him. He ran to catch up with me and threw his arm over my shoulder. We went to sit on this blanket that was set up. He told me Ash help him sit this up, which showed he cares more than I thought he did.
"So, you like it?"
"Yeah, this is amazing." he just smiled and watched me as I took my sandals off.
"So, how have you been? Like over the past couple of years."
"Good. Tired though. Allie and Colson have as much energy as you boys, maybe more."
"Well, we all know which one of us they get it from." I laughed. "So...did you, uh, talk to anyone else? Or try and be with someone else?"
"I honestly tried talking to different people, but it never worked. I just couldn't do it. How about you?"
"I slept with some girls at first, thinking that would like help me not hurt as much but it just wasn't working so I stopped for a while. But then, you know we went on tour so I did sleep with some girls on tour but nothing compares to-"
"I get it Colson. How'd you deal then if that didn't help?"
"Smoked a lot. Ash was getting sick of it but it's all I really had that kept my mind off of you. Did leaving make your depression stuff worse?"
"At first when I was upset about it but then I got used to not being there. It was hard for me though, don't think it wasn't." he nodded and looked down. I laid down and closed my eyes.
"You look great, you know that right?" I laughed and looked at him.
"You don't look bad yourself. But my hair is way too long."
"I miss your short hair, but I like this better." I looked at him and saw him smirking down at me.
"Let's go get some food. I'm hungry, and we're leaving in a couple hours." he nodded and helped me up. We stopped at a restaurant and ate before heading back. As soon as I walked back in my room Kenzie was at my side asking questions.
"So, tell me about the date!"
"Kenzie! It wasn't a date! And stop asking questions. All we did was sit on the beach and talk then went to get food."
"Oh. Can I ask one more question though?"
"You just did."
"Okay, seriously."
"Fine, go ahead.."
"Would you consider getting back with him?" I didn't know how to answer since I could barely give Colson an answer when he asked.
"I don't know right now Kenzie. I'm only here to sing and we're just friends now. Give it time."
"We all have for the past three years. And nothings happened. I thought you'd at least be talking to someone by now. But you aren't which means-"
"Which means nothing Kenzie. It just never works when I do try. I'm gonna go get my stuff ready." she nodded. I walked to the closet and packed, stalling so I didn't have to go back out there and talk to anyone. After talking to Kenzie, I was thinking about earlier and what she said. There were a couple reasons I hadn't tried to actually get with anyone else. Part of it was the twins, and I hate to admit it but a lot of it had to do with Colson.
Kenzie called in to let me know we were heading out, so I grabbed my bags and followed them out. I got in the back with Slim and Colson. Dub and Kenzie called the front once we came back from the beach. I took a window seat and Colson in the middle. It wasn't as awkward as the ride here, but I felt weird after talking to Kenzie.
"You okay?" he asked me, making me jump.
"Oh, yeah I'm fine. Just a little tired."
"Take a nap then. We're going straight to Florida." I nodded and got comfortable. It took me a while to fall asleep so I got to hear all the baby talk since no one could agree on a name.
When I woke up I had to look around to see where I was. I noticed it was the old house Kenzie used to live in when she went to school. I was fine until I realized I had my arms around someone. I looked down and knew who it was once I saw the XXX tattoo. I just laughed and sat up. I looked back to see him watching me. He just shook his head and stood up.
"Did you carry me in here?"
"No, Sky, you sleep walk and thats how you got here with your arms wrapped around me." I rolled my eyes.
"A simple yes would have been fine." he laughed and helped me up. I grabbed clothes and went to get in the shower and laid down once I got out. Colson was in his own room and everyone else was at the pool. I laid there on my phone for a while and after a couple hours I heard someone moving around outside my door. I got up and carefully walked to the door since it was dark. I opened the door and saw that Colson was pacing outside of my door. I looked at the table and saw he had been drinking and I could tell he just got done smokinh by the smell in the living room. When he saw me he just stopped and stared at me. We just stood there, not moving. All of a sudden he came at me and kissed me before I could say anything. I got too caught up to stop it. He slowly walked me back to my bed and we laid down on the bed. He pulled back and looked at me.
"You know how long I've waited to do that?" he said and I could smell the alcohol on his breath.
"Colson.." he sat down next to me and shook his head.
"What?"
"I-I just can't do this. I'm sorry. It's-" he kissed me again, but was as rough as the first time. He pulled away again and looked me in my eyes.
"I think I'm gonna go to bed. I'll see you in the morning." he shook his head as he walked out.
I sighed and laid down. I tried sleeping but ended up pacing around my room and then I started crying. My emotions were all over the place right now. I honestly haven't felt this way since a couple years ago. But I knew I could handle it this time. I passed out at the end of my bed. During the night I felt someone moving me around and I barely woke up enough to know the door didn't open and close again.
