War....even after humans left Earth it never changed. Senseless blood shed and for what? Plots of land, money, and just because they want something to kill. It's all the same no matter were you go. That's way the outer planets turned on the core planets. The civil war between the outer and core planets created the Core Union and the Outer Confederacy. Why did this war begin you ask? That's easy to answer...power.A new fuel called Biotry was found on many planets in both the Union and Confederacy. The fuel gives off no waste, one rock the size of your fist can fuel ten houses, and it's renewable. It was something the humans on Earth had been searching for ever sense fossil fuels began to run out. Now that we have it we fight over it. How many people had died trying to sell it? The answer is to many. President Runic of the outer planets told everyone the core planets planed to take the Biotry for themselves causing a war.
The core planets held many of the rich people of the galaxy as the outer planets held miners, farmers, and many other lower class people. Selling this resource was their only way to become rich like the core, so they fought to protect it. The core retaliated and in three years civil war broke out. Funny how history repeats it's self, right. You've probably seen things like this happen through out time.
Now Marcus Kelo, a sixteen year old boy from the outer worlds, must live his young life through the war. All those sixteen to thirty were put in a draft to become Golem pilots. Golems are giant war machines that were modeled after humans. Their size ranges from the size of a large tree to the size of the statue of liberty. Any one drafted to be a pilot was sent to the CGTA, or Confederacy Golem Training Academy. There were hundreds of these academies through out the outer planets and Marcus spent his time in one learning to become a pilot.
Even though many people were drafted Marcuse signed up for the army at ten, well he was forced to. His father, adoptive father, was a general in the Confederate army and Marcus's adoptive older brother was not to far behind their father. As an enlisted man Marcus would learn more and train harder. When he graduates he would be given the rank of Lieutenant if his scores were high enough.

"Hey isn't that Marcus?" Someone whispered. "Adopted son of General Locks?"
"Yeah," Another student whispered. "They say he's the smartest in the school and is one hell of a strategist."
"I heard his piloting skills-"
"Mr. Howe and Mr. Rove get to class!" A teacher yelled coming down the hall.
Marcus looked up at the teacher who nodded at him. Mr. Frank the strategy teacher and Marcus's favorite teacher. No matter what he had Marcus's back. The dirty hair blonde approached Marcus and smiled at him watching him with his ocean blue eyes.
"On your way to class Marcus?" Mr. Frank asked. "What do you have?"
"Right now it's History for me," Marcus said looking outside the window to the dark void of space. Every Academy orbits a planet and this one orbited Vestnal 27th planet out of 50 in the confederacy."I should get going before I'm late, or Mr. Clay will kill me." Marcus looked at himself in the window as he pushed on.
His reflection showed a boy with black hair and red eyes that seemed to almost glow. He ignored it and walked to class. Mr. Frank followed Marcus to Mr. Clay's just as the bell rang making him late.
"Shit." Marcus cursed under his breath.
"I've got you my boy," Mr. Frank said. "Go on in."
Marcus swiped his ID card on the door panel and it opened. Inside were desks facing a holo bored. Every seat but his was filled and everyone looked at him. Mr. Clay, unlike the fit Mr. Frank, was a fat man with a balding head. For some reason he hated Marcus.
"Well Mr. Kelo," Mr. Clay said with a smile. "This makes late three. You know what that means, right?"
In all truth this was his first late but Mr. Clay loved to lie, but who would the school believe? Once you get up to late three as an enlisted man you can kiss Lieutenant good-bye.
"Yes Mr. Clay," Marcus said. "But I can explain. Mr. Frank stopped me in the hall for something."
"Lying are we?" Clay said with a power hungry laugh. "Well you can write me an essay about why you shouldn't lie in detention."
"Picking favorites are we?" Mr. Frank said entering the room after listening from the outside.
"What are you doing in my class David?" Mr. Clay asked.
"I thought you should know I stopped Marcus and made him late." Mr. Frank said. "The blame is all on me."
"He should have come strait to class." Mr. Clay said getting angry of being talked back to. "My word is final."
"I think you just hate Marcus." Mr. Frank said. "I've seen how you target him. That's not very fair, Lucy."
Mr. Clay's face turned red out of anger and embarrassment. A few kids in the class snickered but were silenced by Mr. Clay's glare of soon to come punishment.
"I've told you to never call me that." Mr. Clay hissed like spiting out poison at Mr. Frank.
"Why," Mr. Frank asked. "It's your first name isn't it, Lucy?"
"Stop it!" The fat man hissed again a little louder this time.
"Only if you pardon Marcus of all your stupid clams and charges." Mr. Frank said. "I've turned my eyes from this problem long enough, Lucy."
"Fine you win," Mr. Clay said giving in. "You'll see his record cleaned now get out!"
"Oh no," Mr. Frank said. "I don't have a class right now so I think I'll watch you just in case you try to target anyone since you look like your going to blow."
"Very well," Clay said. "Okay class open your holo pads to screen 7,567. Can anyone tell me what happened on they planet of Grainthought on July of 2456?"
Marcus and two others raised their hands. One of them was a red haired girl named Flare Harvest the smartest girl in school. Then there was Angel Winters one of the smartest its in the school. Marcus didn't call Angel an it to be mean because it was how you would identify on of Angel's kind. Angel was a new type of human discovered during the beginning years of space travel under the United world of Earth. They were Neither-sex humans because they didn't have genders.
Neither-sex humans lived on a planet named Yogar with other gender humans. The way they work is they are born gender-less. Then when they fall in love their body would permanently become the opposite sex of their lover. Plus their special and form a bond with the one they're destined to be with. They have some way of being able to tell when their lover's around once their sex is chosen so you can kiss sneaking pass them good-bye. Actually Marcus has never seen a marriage between a once Neither-sex and anyone else end in a fallout.
"Angel." Mr. Clay said.
Angel had neck length brown black hair and purple eyes uncommon like Marcus's red eyes. It wore a uniform like the boys had, long sleeve black jacket with a white under shirt and long black pants. Truth is Marcus thought Angel would look cute as a girl, but he never said anything since he doubted it liked him. They were only friends, infect it was Marcus's only friend.
"On July of 2456 the planet's miners found Biotry deep in the planets crust." Angel said in a voice that sounded more like a girls. "This was the first outer planet to find Biotry."
"Correct-" Mr. Clay said dragging on.
Marcus knowing all of this tried his best not to fall asleep. Finally the bell rang a hour later, but next period would be the worst....it was Golem Training.
