•°Stacy°•
My mind went blank and every ounce of my thoughts flew away. My throat suddenly became sore and my entire body weakened as I collapsed on the ground.
I could hear everyone calling my name as they rushed to my side.
"Stacy! Whats going on?" Lauren asked in worry.
I tried to form my words to tell her what I had just heard but it was as if I had lost the ability to talk.
"Rico get her up and take her in the house." Lauren demanded.
He did as told.
I watched as everyone gathered around me as I sat on the couch. I didnt need to look in a mirror to know that my face was in complete disbelief and the true feeling of fear graced my face.
"Stacy baby?" I heard my mother say as she squated down in front of me. "Stacy, who was that on the phone honey?"
I was silent still trying to catch my train of thought.
"Stacy. We aint got time to play no damn sherades with you!" Evan blurted.
"Evan calm down. Give her some time! Whatever it is, its really bothering her now!" Lauren yelled to Evan after nudging him in the arm.
I dropped my head.
"We gotta.. we gotta get out of here." I managed to say after trying to calm my nerves.
"What?" Evan asked.
I jumped up from the couch and started grabbing my things.
They all looked at me with confused faces.
"Wait, what the hell are you talking about Stacy? What the fuck is going on here?"
"Watch your mouth boy!" My mother yelled at Evan.
Evan looked over at Lauren's mom holding his daughter.
"My bad ma but I'm trying to wrap my head around this whole situation. You want to let us know whats going on Stacy!? I mean we all trying to figure it out!" Evan yelled to the top of his lungs in fustration as he held his arms out wide.
I turned around to address what Evan had just said but before I could let the words slide off of my tongue, an overflow of bullets came flying through all the windows and the interior of the house.
We all dove for cover.
Screams filled the room as the bullets rumbling from the automatic seemed to last forever. Pictures fell from the walls, sounding off in a loud clatter as the glass broke into a million pieces. Feathers and furs from the pillows and cushions of the sofa went flying everywhere as the bullets pierced through them mutiple times creating a swift whistle noise. Vases that once sat on the tables and shelves were instantly destroyed by the bullets that crashed through them covering the floor in nothing but glass. I could feel pieces flying and hitting the back of my legs and arms as I covered my head.
I could hear Lauren screaming to her mother repeatly asking is her daughter okay. I didnt hear a reponse and I was praying to myself that everyone had seeked cover in time.
The driveby seemed to last forever.. or maybe it was just my fear making it seem so long.
Then out of nowhere.. there was the long sound of tires scretching against the paved road and silence crept over the room as we listened until the loud rumble of the engine from the car faded away.
Nobody moved a muscle.
We stayed down for almost an extra five minutes to make sure we werent being set up to think the shooters had left.
I was the first to speak.
"Is everbody okay?" I asked from the floor.
No response.
*Bang Bang Bang*
There was a loud banging at the door.
My head swung to the left when I realized I wasnt even 50ft from it and to make things worse I was the only one visible from the door.
My heart raced from the thought of the door swinging open and seeing O.G. walking in with his chrome revolver in his hand, slowly walking up to me and putting a bullet through my skull.
I thought about crawling out of sight but I knew I didnt have enough time.
I closed my eyes, saying a silent prayer to God. Repenting for all of my sins and begging him to let me in the golden gates if this was my last time breathing.I could hear the door swing open with a force.
"Oh my lawd! Lauren! Evan! Are you alright!"
It was the neighbor.. Mrs. Watson.
My soul was suddenly relived that it had another chance to get right before it had to leave forreal.
She walked over to me and touched my back that was ice cold from fear.
"Baby are you alright?"
"Are they gone?" I asked not even trying to get up.
"Yes baby.. now c'mon get up." She said as she tried to help me up.
I looked around the house at all the destruction that was caused.
"Stacy are you okay?" I heard my mother ask coming from whatever hiding space she was in to grab my face and make sure I was okay.
"I'm fine." I responded in a low tone.
I saw Evan, Lauren, Mrs. Newsome, who was still clutching on to the baby and Rico rise up from the floor and out from behind the corners.
They all dusted off their clothes and made sure everyone was okay. I ran over to Rico and hugged his neck after making sure he was all in one piece.
They all began to look around at the damage that was done. Walking around on the broken glass and feather covered floor.
Lauren kneeled down and picked up a picture that held their family photo, taking it out the broken frame and shaking the small pieces of glass off.
I saw a small tear fall from her left eye running down her face and the feeling of guilt suddenly graced my heart.. because I was the main reason for it all..
