I stood to the door as I watched everyone get into their cars safely and leave.
"Yo stace baby, I gotta go home with Avery them for awhile. I'll call you when I'm on my way back." Rico said to me before he walked out.
"Okay." I said as I watched him walk out the door and drive off.
I closed and locked the door behind them forgeting Cedric was still on the couch.
I folded my arms as I watched him sitting there depressed. I walked over to him and sat down beside him.
"You okay?" I asked.
He shook his head.
I looked at him all weak and in pain emotionally. He was here physically but not mentally.
"Ive lost it all.. everything." He said in a low tone.
"Cedric.. I know youre in pain right now but you havent lost everything."
"Thats where youre wrong. Ive lost my safety, Ive lost my sister, Ive lost my mother ... and Im losing my mind."
"Dont talk like that Cedric. You gotta hang in there."
He was quiet.
"I just feel so bad.. I left the woman who gave me life lying on the floor. I just left her!"
"You cant blame yourself for this Cedric."
"Why cant I? If I havent been so caught up in setting them up, all of this wouldnt be happening right now."
I was silent.
"Before my mother died, she was telling me that it was time for me to live again. Ive been so stuck on giving Omar what he deserves that I havent noticed that Ive been hurting the people around me for so long.. and she was one of them."
I stared at Cedric as he poured his soul out.
"Im sorry Stacy." He began. "My mother didnt raise me to do the things that I did to you. I shouldve known better.. I was so blinded by revenge." He said as he looked up at me with tears in his eyes.
"Its fine Cedric.."
"No its not. I bruised and used your heart which was wrong. I played games with your emotions and even abused your body for my own pleasure."
I looked away from him and his truthful words.
"You hurt me Cedric. You hurt me bad. I trusted you and you betrayed me."
"I know and I hope you'll forgive me one day."
I didnt respond.
"Its getting kind of late Cedric. You probably should head out."
"I aint got nowhere to go."
"What about a hotel?"
"That'll be the first place they'll look for me."
"Cedric.." I began but my phone interupted me by ringing.
"Hello?" I answered while walking into the kitchen.
"Baby, I gotta stay with Michelle them tonight. Will you be fine by yourself?"
"Well to be honest.. it seems like I wont be alone tonight."
"What you mean?" He asked.
"Cedric is still here. He says he has nowhere to go."
"What about a hotel?"
