"Man thats some serious shit you talking bout."

"I know .. I know." Rico responded.

We had made it back to Stacy's house, as we sat in the living room having our own little conversation.

My phone began ringing in my pocket as we continued to talk.

"I bet this aint nobody but Stacy.."

I checked the screen.

"What I tell you." I said before I answered.

"Hello?"

"Yo Evan, you wont believe the shit me and Lauren just ran up on."

"Wassup?" I asked sitting up straight on the sofa.

"Your neighbor.. Mrs. Watson.."

"Yeah.."

"You wont believe who her son is."

"Who?"

"Mutherfuckin Cedric."

"Damn." I responded as I wiped my face with my hand.

"What makes it worse is the nigga had the nerve to think Im bout to give him the time of day."

"Man dude trippin."

"You aint neva lied."

"But aye where yall at?"

"We not to long ago left the house to see if the lady saw anything last night."

"What she say?" I asked.

"She said she saw the same car ma saw creeping around every few minutes."

"Aight."

"We up the road though."

"Aight."

We hung up.

I informed Rico on Stacy and my conversation before the barged in.

They sat down in the living room with us.

"So you ran into ya man huh? Rico said to Stacy.

"Whatever. That is not my man." She responded.

"Well at least we know he had nothing to do with it. He kept asking me what happened to the house, like I was going to tell him." Lauren added.

"Shit.. Im pretty sure he can put two and two together." I said aloud.

"Now we know who the target is.. so whats the plan?" Rico asked.

The room was quiet as we waiting for somebody to come up with an answer.

Before anyone could speak, a knock graced the door.

"I got it." Lauren said before she got up from her chair.

"Who is it?"

No answer..

She repeated the question.

Still no answer ..

She turned and looked back at us.

I got up from the sofa and swiftly walked to the door beside her pulling my gun out of my pants.

We looked each other abd back at the door.

She opened the door with a with a quick twist and pull and I pointed my gun at whoever was standing there.

Their hands went up in the air signaling for me not to shoot.

"I come in peace."

"You better say some player, you liked to got ya face blown clean off." I said as I lowered my weapon.

Lauren and I didnt move from the door as looked the unwanted visitor in his eyes.

"Look, I figured it I said who I was you wouldnt have opened the door." They said as they lowered their hands.

"You damn right." Lauren said

"What you want man?" I asked.

"I just want to talk."

"About what?"

He looked around outside before he spoke.

I pulled my gun out again.

He watched my reaction.

"I suggest you trail lightly bruh, cause we dont trust you not one bit. Not after the shit you pulled. You looking around and shit.. you trying to set us up?"

"Who at the door?" We heard Stacy ask.

I saw Lauren hold her finger up, signaling for Stacy to hold on for a minute, without taking her eyes off of the guest.

"Nah. It aint nothing like that. I promise. Its just me."

"Youre promises dont mean shit."

"I just want to talk Evan. I would tell you about what but .. I cant out in the open. Can I come in?"

Lauren looked at me for confirmation.

"You pull anything slick and we'll feed your ass to the fish."

I stepped aside.

"Look who showed up." I said to Stacy and Rico.

"Evan are you outta your fucking mind!" Stacy said as she stood up.

"The crooked ass cop." Rico said shaking his head.

Lauren locked the door as I walked behind Cedric with my gun in my hand.

I saw Rico pull his out and place it on his lap.

"Cedric here says he has something to say. He knows if he makes the wrong move he's fish food." I explained to them as I stood against the wall.

"I dont wanna hear shit he has to say!" Stacy screamed.

"Stacy Im sorry!" Cedric said in her direction.

"Please I dont believe that shit. You can take that sorry ass apology and shove it up yo mama ass!"

"I know I said it was all business with you but I lied. I was being honest when I said it never was my intention in the beginning to use you as a way to get to Omar. When you opened up to me about your problems and he happened to be the topic .. it all just turned into something else. I have been trying to get Omar for years with no advance, my evidence dissapearing from my hands.. laughter and taunts coming from his lawyers and people he associated with. It hit me hard... and I vowed to get Omar no matter what it would take. I was so caught up in the fact that I had Omar in the palm of my hand that I felt untouchable and I ended up hurting you. After everything, after my heroism wore off, I realized how much you meant to me. I realized I made a terrible mistake.."

Stacy didnt respond with her arms folded and her gazed stayed on the wall.

"Well you too late bruh. She got a man." Rico intervened.

Cedric looked stunned as he looked at Rico.

"What did Omar do to you to have you after his head?" Lauren asked Cedric.

"Because of what he did to his last girlfriend." He answered.

"Damn. I know you a cop and all but is the case really that serious? I mean my homie got murdered and yall knew who did it but after a few months his case was dropped with no answers." Rico explained.

"It is when it was my sister."

Stacy turned her gaze from the wall and placed it on Cedric. We all were shocked.

"Omar's last girfriend was your sister?" I repeated to make sure I heard correctly.

He nodded.
