{Jacob}

"JACOB! Uhm.. hi.." Sapphire said in a surprised tone .

I just looked at her , I couldn't even manage to get a word out . She looked at me and then at the floor.

"I guess you heard that.. didn't you?"

I just looked at her and nodded slowly. She looked at me and then at the floor again . I didn't even know what came over me.. but I was just speechless. I was waiting to for her to give me a gigantic "SIKE!" and let this be a joke.. but I guess not. She actually think she's staying here.. with me? I think not.

"I know you want me to go but-"

"Your not staying here." I said lowly and sipping my vodka.

"I know your mad but I think-"

"Your. Not. Staying. End of the conversation." I said looking at her intensly.

She just sighed and shook her head, "Look.. I know your mad.. but can you at least try and make the best out of this situation? I'm trying to be more understanding as my mother said, but your making it really hard."

"You heard what I said. All of what your saying is going in one ear and out the other so I suggest you just stop trying and pack your bags." I said giving her a sarcastic smile.

She let out a bitter chuckle and shook her head , "Wow Jacob Perez you really are a piece of work! You know what, I know your mad so I'm just gonna go and let you blow off some steam. I'll be back later." she said grabbing her keys.

She'll be back? Ha, over my dead body.

{Sapphire}

; I grabbed my keys and started driving off to nowhere. I was trying to the best of my ability to not get frustrated and worked up by Jacob's attitude. I would think he would have appreciated me trying to understand him, but I guess in all honesty he just didn't want to be with anyone.

I took a deep sigh as I looked through my phone and called up my best friend Farah, she always knew how to cheer me up in the worst situations.

"Hey boo!" I heard her cheer through the phone.

"Uh hey!" I said trying to sound enthusiastic.

"Awe what's wrong? Why do you sound so upset?"

I then explained to her what all happened with Jacob and I, over the few days. She scoffed over the phone, "Wow even after you gave up and tried to understand him, he still didn't want to make an effort and go on with the deal?"

"Nope. I thought that was what he wanted, someone to try and understand him.. I guess not."

"Woo girl, I know your nerves must be irked, why don't you swing by here and have a drink or two?"

Drinking. My good ole' pain reliever. That was an automatic yes to the invite. Now that I had somewhere to go, I could stop driving aimlessly in the road.

; As I pulled up to the local bar that Farah invited me too, I got out my car and walked in.

The odor of liquor and old miserable men filled my nostrils immediately. If I wasn't in such a bad mood, I would probably turn away myself from the odor. I walked up to the counter and took a seat on the old dingy bar stool. As I got a few looks from the men, I could only feel disgusted. I simply looked down and started playing on my phone.

"So, let me guess, the usual?" I heard her familiar voice.

I looked up and nodded my head at Farah, as she cleaned out a random shot glass with her mysterious rag she always carried around. She put the glass on the bar and reached for all the ingredients to the drink. In about a minute, she slid my drink to me, leaning on the counter.

I sipped it, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. The drink was perfect, just like all of her others. If I didn't know better, I would say she was the best bartender in the world.  As I continued to sip my drink, she stared at me.

"Are you okay? You look like all of these drunk, miserable men."

"At this rate, I'll become one of em'." I said sighing slightly.

"You know what you need girl?" she smiled mischievously.

"A blunt." I said rubbing my forehead, and chuckling a little.

She gave me a serious look, "That's not funny, you know you just came off that stuff. I'm surprised your not smoking one now."

If I had one I would.

I shook my head at her, "Anyways, what do I need then?"

"A man." she said grinning widely.

I scoffed at her and took a sip of my drink. I haven't had a man in months, and l've been doing good so far!

"A man..? I don't need a man, I'm doing just fine by myself," I said quickly.

"Woah, calm down. Okay, maybe not a man, but how about a date!" she said giving me a smirk.

"The last time you set me up on a date the guy ended up being MARRIED with FIVE kids!" I chuckled

"Okay, okay.. maybe that ONE was a bad idea! But c'mon you need a date! Just have a guy take you out, sweet talk you and make you feel good!"

I sighed, "You know I don't do blind dates, and what about Jacob?"

She rolled her eyes, "Ugh you don't like him do you? Ya'all barely get along and it's not like you too are really a COUPLE. So a innocent date can't hurt!"

I sighed, I was actually considering on going on a BLIND date! What if it turned out to be a disaster? How desperate am I? Am I really going to consider this? What would Jacob think? wait. Jacob?! C'mon Sapphire get it together! He's the reason I'm here in the first place! Y'know what, fuck it. I'm going on a date! I need to start being out more anyways.

"You know what.. why not? I'll go on the date, I haven't had fun in a while anyways! So, who is the mysterious man, and is he gonna be a good one this time?"

"YAY! Okay, well.. as a matter of fact, I think he's a GREAT guy Sapphire! He's so funny, nice and charming. You know, I think you and him will get along nicely! He even works here at the bar!" she said cheesing out of excitement.

"Well.. he sounds like a nice guy by the way you describe him! But, if he works here, why haven't I ever saw him?" I asked scrunching my eyebrows.

"He works in the early day time, when you usually would be teaching your karate classes before you met Jacob!"

I nodded my head, "So when is this date exactly?"

"I'll text you the details! I'll let him know you said yes, he's pretty excited for this date!"

Well here goes nothing.. I guess I have a date!
