Chapter 17- Engagement Dinner

; "Welcome Prince Jacob and Ms. Sapphire, we hope everything is up to your standards." One of the servants said in a professional tone.

"Thank you Grayson,everything is perfect." Jacob said as Grayson nodded and we walked away.

Everything really was perfect. The servants practically worked their asses off preparing for this. Everything from the lighting, to the decorations were on point. I was in awe, I wasn't used to such an fancy atmosphere.

"Jacob, Sapphire!" Jacob's mother exclaimed as she walked over to us smiling.

"Hey, mom." Jacob said returning her smile and giving her a hug.

"Wow, you both look great! Sapphire, that dress fits you so well!" she said hugging me tightly.

"Thank you, you really know how to pick out an outfit!" I said struggling for air.

She really needs to learn the difference between hugging someone and basically strangling someone.

"Awe, thanks. Well, do you guys like how it turned out? The servants really impressed me I must say!"

"Sapphire!" I heard some voices yell.

"Mom, Dad!" I smiled as they approached us.

"Wow Sapphire, you look amazing in that dress." my mom said smiling.

"Thanks mom, you guys look pretty great too." I said hugging both of them.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Grey." Jacob said shaking my dad's hand and hugging my mother.

"Why hello Jacob, why you look so sharp in that suit!"

"Yeah, you two look great." my father said smiling.

"Don't they? They are just the perfect couple huh?" Ms. Theresa said winking at us.

Jacob and I just nodded and smiled. I didn't really know if they were actually convinced that we really liked each other or not, but I hoped they were.

"Well Jacob, I think you should go around and introduce Sapphire to the family and our friends as well. Dinner should be out in an hour or so, I hope you two enjoy the party!" she said walking away, introducing my parents to some of the many guests.

I took a deep breath, "You think they were a little convinced?" I asked nervously.

"Yeah, I guess they'll be convinced once they actually see the engagement AND wedding." he said shrugging.

"That made me feel SO much better." I said rolling my eyes.

"Well, you kinda convinced our parents, now you have to convince 200 other people at least! I hope that made you feel better." he said laughing.

God, he's such an asshole.

"Yeah..it did. Asshole." I said sighing.

"Hey c'mon, wipe that frown off of your face, how are you gonna convince people without smiling?! Look, if you last for the next hour or so, then we can stop pretending and you can stop being such a nervous wreck."

I sighed, he was right. I took a deep breath and placed a small smile on my face, "Let's just get this over with." I said as I glanced around the big room.

; After an hour of being introduced to almost everyone in the room, Jacob and I could finally take a breather and actually just hang around. Fortunately, Jacob's friends showed up to the event, and so did Farah, so I wasn't complaining. As we walked over there, they were all introducing themselves.
