Chapter 15- Better Than I Expected.

; "Oh my goodness, this can not be real."  Sapphire said excitedly while holding TONS of bags on her arms and twirling around.

"It is, I don't understand why you're still so surprised.." I said shrugging.

"But you're used to this kind of money! I've never had more than $200 at one time!" she said chuckling. 

We both chuckled as we exited the mall and got in the car. 

"So, did you enjoy yourself? Am I forgiven for being an asshole?" I said smiling.

"Hm, I'll think about it and give you an reply later." Sapphire said smirking and resting her head on the window. 

I shook my head and smiled lightly, 'I hope so, I've never done anything like this before with anyone else.'

When I pulled up to the house it was pretty late, and Sapphire was already asleep in the car.

"Sapphire, wake up.." I said nudging her slightly.

"Noo..." she said in a tired tone.

I sighed and got out the car walking to her side, I poked her and she fanned my hand away.

"You better get up before you have to sleep in the car!" I said laughing

"Ugh.. carry me, too lazy too walk.." she said in mid-sleep.

I looked at her strangely "uh, OK.." I said picking her up bridal style.

She buried her head in my chest, as I walked in the house. I would be lying if I said i didn't like the feeling. I smiled a little and carried her all the way upstairs into the bedroom. I layed her down softly, and sat down. She rubbed her eyes and opened her eyes barely.

"So,  you enjoyed yourself? Am I forgiven?"

"Mhm... I guess so.. I guess I did have fun."

I chuckled at her response. "I guess I'll take that as a yes."

"Yeah, you wanna know something?"

"Uh sure?"

"You're not as bad as I thought you were, Perez. What you did was kind of sweet, taking me out shopping and stuff. I can get used to THIS side of Jacob." she said smiling.

I smiled back, believe it or not, that was music to my ears. Usually, I wouldn't care if a girl gave me compliments or not, but coming from Sapphire, I take that as an accomplishment! Finally, i broke her out of that mean ass shell that she was in. 

"Well, your welcome then Grey. I can get used to THIS side of Sapphire. You know, you actually look pretty when you smile." I said rubbing my neck nervously. 

"So your saying I was ugly all this time, until now?" she said with a playful expression on her face.

'Yeahhh, I never was good at giving complements.' I thought.

"N-no i'm not saying that you're ugly..i'm just saying you look better when you smile..wait.. no.." 

"Awe, is Perez nervous now? I get what you're saying, you don't have to explain." she said laughing.

I laughed nervously, why was I getting so nervous all of a sudden? I mean..it's not like I never gave a woman an compliment before..it's just that with her it was different. SHE was different. 

"Well..i'm gonna just go now..I know you're probably sleepy, so you should get some rest." 

"Yeah, okay..  Goodnight Perez.." she said as she planted a small kiss on my cheek then smirking. 

I could feel my cheeks getting warm, I smiled a little. Her lips were so soft and smooth, i could get used to those kisses.

"Goodnight, Sapphire."

She nodded and got comfortable under the covers. I left out of the room, turning off the lights.

I stood by the door and took a deep breath, collecting my thoughts. Wow, I didn't expect today to turn out as good as it did! I actually thought she would still be harsh and mean to me as usual. But, the fact she actually enjoyed herself, and gave me a kiss on the cheek was more than enough to convince me that she had forgiven me. Now that we're actually getting together, this whole thing can go just a little bit smoother I hope. I'm actually excited for the engagement dinner tomorrow, which is very unusual of me. But knowing that I have to propose to her, and we have to kiss made me happy enough to forget all about the uncertainty I had.

Man, I can't wait for tomorrow.
