A/N This might not be too good I've had some writers block for awhile.
Kanan and Hera got up so that they could get back to work. Hera went immediately to check their sources on Ezra's location, Kanan went to go help Sabine and Zeb with the supplies for the Ghost.
Hera slipped out of the ship when no one was looking to say good-bye to the Phantom, and salvage any thing that she could that might be helpful. As she was walking in the tall grass she found herself looking in the direction of the abandoned communications tower that the small loth-rat Ezra Bridger once called home. She found herself walking towards the tower instead of the ship in the grass that was still on fire.
She took the lift onto the balcony and walked into the small circular room. She observed a small bed in the corner and a collection of helmets. There were faded posters all over the walls, there was a desk and some archaic electronics.
Hera sat down at the desk and ran her fingers along the communicator picking up the dust that had settled on it. It came as such a shock to her that the raven haired kid would ever get taken by anyone besides the empire, and he himself was able to evade the empire and escape, but what would happen to him now?
Hera let some tears out of her eyes and then stood up and waked out of the tower. Walking briskly in the chilly autumn air, she headed towards the crashed phantom walking along the burned remains of the grass. As she neared her ship she heard voices, voices of her crew, no her family.
"I'm starting to worry Sabine, Hera's been gone for hours and ....." Kanan turned around to find the Twi'lek standing there with a smug expression on her face "..... and there she is." Kanan finished "Where might have you been Miss Syndulla?" Hera raised an eyebrow, "I'm the captain of the ship I can do whatever I want!"
Kanan smiled Hera flirting with him was always a good sign, she slipped her hand into his and they looked each other in the eyes. Hera stood on her tip-toes and planted a kiss on Kanan's cheek, then she bent down to the phantom to get to work on salvaging things.

Back in the Ghost the crew was sitting in cockpit data pads in hand, searching the holo-net for news on Ezra. Kanan was the first one that got frustrated and went to his room to meditate. Sabine Hera and Zeb all knew that it was no good news when Kanan got frustrated. Sabine was next to leave most likely giving up because Kanan had.
Zeb eventually gave up and went to bed. Hera wasn't going to give up, she promised herself that Ezra would be found no matter the cost. She already missed his shallow remarks, and the eye rolls he made with those brilliant electric blue eyes. His eyes, that was how she always recognized Ezra Bridger, the eyes.
Hera didn't realize that she was crying again until Kanan entered the cockpit with a concerned look on his face. He walked over to her and embraced her tears soaking his sweater, as well as a limp Hera weighing down on him.
"Hera.... I'm sorry." She sniffled and looked up at his comment, "What [sob] do you [sob] mean dear?" Kanan had tears on the edges of his eyes, "I should have come back sooner, not try and find him on my own. I especially shouldn't have thought I could find him on my own, I guess I've become too much jedi...... for myself. I thought that I could have functioned with the alcohol, but I was wrong. I was wrong to even go....... I was wrong to leave you."
Hera looked up slightly confused at what he was saying "I guess we both got so caught up in life we forgot that we are fighting a rebellion." She replied quietly. Kanan leaned back onto one of the chairs "What do ya mean?" Hera looked up at him "Well you went back to trying to save the galaxy through alcohol and I went back to flying it off."
They both sighed and Hera snuggled up close to Kanan's chest, "We will find Ezra, won't we?" "I... I don't know Hera." Kanan sat there for a moment expecting some sort of reply but none came. When he looked down Hera was sleeping. Kanan thought about taking her to her bed, but he fell asleep before he worked up the energy to get up.
