Kai's P.O.V.
Brittany presses her hungry lips to mine, which I accept. I don't even know if the amount of alcohol I have endured so far is enough to drown all of my sorrows tonight. During the kiss my mind drifts off to Monday at school when Havyn saw my intense make out session with Brittany. By the look she gave me, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that she hated me. We didn't need to be together. The two of us together is a bad idea. When Brittany goes back to kissing my neck and I let my eyes flutter open, my body tenses up. Havyn is standing in the middle of the room in a heated moment with Griffin. I shove Brittany off of me and storm across the room.
Not being able to control myself, I snatch Griffin by the back of his shirt and connect my fist to his right cheek. He staggers backwards, hitting the wall. Griffin pushes off of the wall, his fist hit me in chin, causing me to almost fall over backwards. I jump forward, tackling him to the ground. I don't even know how many times my fist hits his mouth before it finally busts open. I can make out Brittany screaming at the top of her lungs like she is dying. As I rear my fist back to strike Griffin in the nose, my torso is ripped off of his body.
"Chill the fuck out!" Jax screams, shoving me backwards.
I try to push past him to reach Griffin again, but Finn and Chris are in front of me before I can, blocking the pathway. Matt is standing behind them for reinforcement. I look around the room for the one person I want to see, however she isn't here any more. I catch a glimpse of her long curly hair shoving past people, disappearing up the stairs. For once I actually run away from a fight, not out of fear, but because of Havyn. I push people out of the way, cursing loudly.
"Move!" I shout. "Get the fuck out of the way!"
I catch a glimpse of Havyn's head quickly weaving through the crowd.
"Havyn!" I yell out. "Wait! Havyn!"
The front door opens and slams shut. I follow her outside into the front yard where the party is still going on. There are people all over the yard, dancing and laughing and having fun. Since there aren't too many people anymore, it isn't hard to catch up to her. I grab onto her wrist and pull her to me. Tears are stinging her eyes, making her eyes sparkle when the strobe lights hit them. The lights make the world seem slower.
"Let go of me!" Havyn shouts, trying to snatch her hand free.
"No," I snap. "I am not going to let you go anywhere until you tell me why the hell you were just all over Griffin. So tell me, Havyn. Why the hell would you even think about getting involved with someone like him? Huh?"
"You have no right over who I am with," she whispers, harshly.
"If it is Griffin, I do!" I yell, angrily.
"Why the fuck does it matter?" she asks, shoving my chest. "You have your little whore, so leave me the hell alone, Kai! I can do whatever I want with whoever I want, so back off. Damn it, I am not your toy. I am my own damn person!"
"Griffin is a bad guy," I snap, my stomach twisting at every harsh thing I say to her. "A really bad one. I understand that you aren't mine, Havyn. You may hate my stupid ass right now, but I really want you to trust me when I tell you to stay away from him."
"Like I said before, I can do whatever I want to!" she screams, shoving me again. The tears that were stinging her eyes are now streaming down her cheeks. A deep pain aches in my chest. I reach out to wipe them away, but she swats my hand away. "Don't."
I want to pull her into my chest. I want to wipe away the tears running down her face that I caused. I want to tell her everything is going to be okay. I want to do so many things right now, but I know I can't. I have no right to try to make everything better. If anything, I know I should turn around and walk away, but I can't. I can't bring myself to walk away, leaving her in this state, looking so hurt and so broken.
"Please," I whisper, softly. I can't say another angry thing to her. "Please just stay away from Griffin. He is the reason for all the bad things that happen around here, Havyn. Just don't get mixed in with him like I did. Don't make my mistakes."
"Why should I trust you?" she asks, angrily. "Why should I believe anything that comes out of your damn mouth?"
"Because I care about you," I say, desperately.
"Bull shit," she spits.
I open my mouth to speak, but a pair of arms are flung around my neck, catching me off guard. Brittany is hanging onto me for dear life, smelling a lot like my cigarette and alcohol. Havyn's eye grow large for a second and then squint towards us pissed. I push Brittany off of me, not wanting anything to do with her. She was fun, but she is nothing to me. She means absolutely nothing. Havyn on the other hand means something, even if I am not sure exactly what it is.
"Come back inside," Brittany says, slurring her words.
"I am leaving," Havyn says, marching away.
I push Brittany off of me.
"No!" I shout. "Havyn, don't!"
"Havyn?" Brittany questions, playing with the name. "You aren't leaving me for that bitch, are you? Because I can promise you that you don't want anything to do with that emotional train wreck. She tries to put some facade up, but we all see right through her, well at least I do."
Havyn turns back around, looking murderous. She shoves me out of the way, catching Brittany by the hair. Before I can do anything to stop her, her fist fist hits Brittany in the right eye. As Havyn goes to punch her again, I scoop her over my shoulder.
"That's enough," I say, gripping onto her tightly.
"Get your damn hands off of me!" Havyn shouts, kicking and punching at me. I don't budge at any of her blows.
I throw her into the passenger seat of my Hummer, putting the child lock on before shutting the door, which only makes her angrier as she tries to break out. I climb into the drivers seat, letting the ignition roar to life. I don't say a word as I back out of Finn's driveway and head straight for her house.
