Chapter Twenty-Two

Havyn's P.O.V.

Friday I spend my entire day laying in bed watching Netflix. Since Mr. Ackner suspended me for the rest of the week Tuesday, I have been stuck home bored out of my mind. Brittany the Bitch talked her way out of any kind of punishment, including detention, which pissed me off. I have been keeping a watch out for Mark, keeping Kai on speed dial with my phone close in case he does decide to make an appearance. I haven't seen him in almost three months, not that I am complaining. The bills are still being paid at the house and I still have my credit card. The sound of a car door slamming snaps me from my thoughts, making me jump.

I suck in my breath and scurry to my window, letting out the same breath when I see that is only Kai. He glances towards my window, running his hands through his hair. A smile flashes on his face when he sees me. The butterflies in my stomach go crazy. I run out of my room full sprint, meeting him halfway on the stair case, throwing myself into his arms. His deep chuckle sends goosebumps across the surface of my skin. 

"I have been so bored!" I exclaim.

"Is that your way of telling me you missed me?" Kai asks, raising his left eyebrow.

"It is," I nod. 

"Are you still racing tonight at Demetrius's?" he asks.

"Yup," I reply, popping the 'p'. "Scared to get you ass kicked again?"

I take off running, leaving him standing their with his mouth wide open. When he starts chasing after me, I squeal. His arms catch my waist, spinning me around. We both lose balance and end falling, Kai making sure he falls underneath. 

"I am going to kick your ass tonight," Kai says, smirking."

"In your dreams," I roll my eyes.

"You are always in my dreams," he winks.

Four hours later, I am finishing getting ready for the race tonight. Kai left to get ready himself and to get his bike. Usually Sarah and the guys would be here, but Sarah is with Finn tonight, riding over with him. I take one last look in the mirror before heading down to the garage. I pull my helmet on and zip out of the drive. I head straight to the tracks, pulling in at the same exact time as Kai. We both park out parks by Finn's Jeep. As soon as we take our helmets off, the guy from the party that Kai called Griffin stalks up. I slap myself for never asking Kai about him.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't two of my favorite people," Griffin says, smiling. 

The girl standing at his side catches my eye. Brittany. 

"Piss off," Kai snaps.

"Find a new toy?" I ask Brittany, smirking devilishly. 

"Shut the hell up," Brittany snaps.

I take a step towards her. 

"I dare you to say that to my face," I growl. 

"Now ladies you aren't acting very ladylike," Griffin chuckles.

This time Kai steps forward, ready to beat Griffin black and blue. 

"It is in your best interest get the fuck away from here," Kai says, maliciously. "That if if you know what it is best for you."

"Kai Prince," a mystery voice calls out. 

A dark man a few inches shorter than Kai steps out from behind Griffin and Brittany. I look from him to Kai, confused. A flash of some kind of emotion washes over Kai's face, making me nervous. Kai steps in front of me, pulling me behind him.
