Author's Note: The song above is called, "Fall for You". Secondhand Serenade sings it. I included the song because I think that it really went along with the last couple of chapters and this one that I am planning on righting now.

Kai's P.O.V.
Three weeks goes by with flying colors. Havyn is slowly starting to open up about her feelings. She is taking baby steps, but I will take anything I can get. Whenever she needs to express herself, she does. If she tries to shut down again, I don't let her. I keep her out of the darkness, wanting her to stay in the light where she belongs. All of our friends have been helping the process along as well. They are all around when either of us needs them. We all started off us two completely separate groups, barely knowing anything about one another, but now we are like one big family. A family that I don't ever want to see go.
"Havyn," Sarah says, dragging me back into our normal lunch time conversation. "What are you going to do for your birthday this year?"
"Birthday?" I question. "You didn't tell me your birthday was coming up."
"That's because I don't care about it that much," I say, shrugging.
"Are you kidding me?" Chris asks, a smirk on his face. "Grace, don't you remember last year? You got so drunk at that bar." He pauses to laugh. "And you did pretty funny shit that night. I don't know about you, but it was the best night of my life."
Of course I remember my last birthday, although I admit some of it is a little blurry. I remember flirting my friends and myself into the bar. That bouncer was too easy, but the bartender was even easier. He ate up every word I said, giving me all the alcohol I wanted. It just so happened to be karaoke night at that particular joint. I may or may not have climbed onto the stage tipsy and sung my little drunk heart out that night.
"I wouldn't say the best night of my life," I chuckle, glancing at Kai. Every night, any night with him topped every other good one I've had, and I've had a lot of those kind of nights. Kai seems to know what I am thinking, because he smiles brightly. "Besides, I don't really feel like celebrating this year. I would much rather stay home, binge watch some Netflix, and stuff my face with foods that are bad for me."
"Would I happen to be invited to this little party?" Kai asks, winking.
"You are the VIP," I wink back.
Everyone around the table looks amused.
"What about us?" Sarah asks. "We want to be with you on your birthday."
"Babe," Finn says, throwing his arm over his girlfriend's shoulder. "I am sure that we could find something to do to celebrate for Havyn's birthday. Don't you see that they clearly want to be alone? By the looks of it, Havyn wants to be in her birthday suit on her actual birthday."
Kai kicks Finn under the table, scowling.
"Watch it," Kai growls.
"I'm kidding," Finn laughs. "Maybe."
Before Kai can retaliate, Finn jumps over the back of the booth, escaping.
"I don't really want to think about that image," Matt says, shaking his head.
"Me neither," Jaxon adds.
"Glad to know you two brothers agree on something," Chris teases.
Jaxon and Matt both glance at each other, furrowing their eyebrows. So I don't laugh at the two of them, I have to bite my lip, but that doesn't stop it from quivering. My good mood sinks and is replaced with a very bad one when I see Brittany Carter marching towards our table. Griffin is right behind her, smiling devilishly. Kai seems to notice, because he stands up and meets them halfway, looking murderous. Chris and the other guys rush to side. I watch Griffin snap his fingers, which brings three other guys to his side in seconds. I recognize the guys as other seniors. I think their names are Jeremy, Beck, and Cade.
