Cyra still hadn't arrived. It had been over two weeks and I tried not to worry. But after the attack, I was worried. I hadn't been able to contact her over dreamscape either. I had assumed it was just because she was travelling, but what if it was something else? Doubt and worry festered. I tried to push it all out.
She would be here. I just had to give her more time. That's what I told myself.
I kept going into the field each night. I would push myself and my new-found abilities. It kept my mind off everything else. My abilities seemed to strengthen every time I used them. The first night it had been wind, clouds and rain. But I found I could gather storms, make the thunder clap, the lightning strike- with varying (but increasing) accuracy. It even snowed once, but it required a lot more concentration.
The wind became like an extension of myself.
I could hardly even remember what it felt like without feeling its presence there.

It had been three weeks since I had contacted Cyra, and I still hadn't heard anything. I didn't want to leave just in case she turned up, but I moved between different motels to be safe.
I had just checked into the latest motel for the night when I heard a shout behind me, around me. I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I didn't know what it had said. An image appeared in front of me, a face I think. It startled me, causing me to jump backwards and almost fall onto the bed. There it was again. A flash before my eyes, and a noise, like a cry for help. A third time it appeared. This time lasting for long enough for me to see what it was. A face, I realised. Cyra's face. She was talking, speaking, shouting. I couldn't tell. It looked like she was in pain, but I could only see her face. Noise came through, as if someone had switched on a microphone. I could hear it quietly at first, and then louder, clearer.
She was whispering. "I don't have long. They found me. I don't know how, but they intercepted me on my way to you and overpowered me. I've managed to escape for long enough to send this message, but I'm sure they'll find me any minute now." She was speaking faster and faster, rushed and quiet. I could barely make out what she was saying. "They know where you are. They're coming for you next. You need to watch out! You can't let them get you! I don't even know how they got here..." She went quiet, her eyes going wide. She seemed to be looking at something in the distance, or maybe it was right next to her. I couldn't tell. She moved suddenly. The image shook, then cut out completely.
What had just happened? The images had been so real. Her face so close to mine.
She had been taken, I realised. I needed to find her. I wasn't sure how long ago this message had been sent, or through what it had been sent. The only answer I could think of was that it had been sent through the dreamscape, through our connection with the Moon. She warned me that they would come after me, but they already had, and that had been a week ago. I had managed to escape them, but obviously Cyra hadn't. It made sense now why Cyra still hadn't arrived.
Why though? Why would they go to so much trouble to keep me and Cyra apart? Just when I was about to go home.
Home... That's what this was all about. I was the Millennium and they were keeping me from going back to my planet- the planet I was meant to save. I didn't even know if I could. But regardless of that, they obviously saw me as a threat. And now Cyra was in danger because of me. How could I find her?
I looked out the window. I couldn't see the moon this time, but I knew it was out there. I had to use the dreamscape again. Cyra said that we could find any Lunair on the dreamscape if we knew which pattern of moon energy we were looking for.
I moved my bag off the bed and lay down. I could do it again. I knew it.
I had become quite good at accessing the dreamscape over the weeks, while trying to contact Cyra. I could understand now why I hadn't been able to contact her. If the Elvirans who had taken her knew anything about Lunairs, they would have kept her isolated from moonlight. Hopefully I'd be able to find her energy signal from when she got out to send me that message.
I closed my eyes and projected myself into the dreamscape.
