Prompt I think I'm in love with you, and I'm terrified #32

I sat at the computers in the Cortex as Caitlin spoke to Jay about velocity nine. I rested my elbow on the desk and set my chin on my hand and sighed.

"I wish she looked at me the way she looks at him." I thought

"You what?" I heard Cisco and looked over at him.

"Hmm?" I raised a brow.

"(Y/n) do you like Caitlin?" Cisco asked and my eyes widened

"W-why would you think that?" I stammered

"Cause you just said that you wished sh-"

"Shh not so loud." I shushed him and smacked him lightly on the arm. "She can't know." I stated quietly

"Why not? We see the way you look at her. There's obviously some feeling there." He stated

"We? Who else knows?" I asked fast

"Barry and Harry." Cisco shrugged

"Ugh!" I groaned as I pushed the chair back and stood up.

"You alright (Y/n)?" Caitlin turned towards us and I felt my cheeks heat up. I bit the inside of my cheek and began to nod.

"Mhmm." I smiled "Everything's fine. I just gotta go and uh." I paused as I thought of an excuse "I gotta go pee." I said fast then ran out of the room. "Pee? Really (y/n) that's the best you could think of." I mentally face palmed as I sped walked down the hall towards Ciscos sciency room where Wells and Barry were bound to be. I marched into the room and stared at the two men before me. I cleared my throat and they both turned around.

"Oh hey (y/n)." Barry looked back at the board they were writing on "What's up?" He asked

"Cisco told me that you two" I motioned between Wells and Barry "Think I like Caitlin. I'm just here to tell you I don't." I stated and both guys laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked

"C'mon (Y/n). It's obvious that you like her." Barry chuckled

"Just stop lying to yourself and ask her out." Wells suggested.

"I can't do that!" I groaned and walked over to one of the chairs in the room and fell back onto  it.

"Why not?" Barry turned around to face me. Harry just looked over intrigued.

"Cause she's into Jay." I sighed

"So?" Harry shrugged

"I can't compete with him! I mean have you seen him!" I groaned

"But have you seen yourself?" Barry asked

"Yes and I'm about a six on a good day while Jay is just off the chart." I mumbled and ran a hand over my face

"Trust me when I say that you should go for it because I think she's into you. Not Jay." Barry smiled and I let out a laugh

"C'mon Allen we both know that's not true." I pushed myself up off the chair. "But thanks for the laugh. I should get back to helping Cisco." I sighed

"Tell her how you feel!" Harry called to me as I left the room and walked back to the Cortex. Once I got back to the desk, I noticed that Jay and Cisco were MIA while Caitlin was sat in my chair.

"Hey." She spun the chair around to look at me once she heard me walk in.

"Hey" I gave a small wave and smiled at her.

"So Cisco said you had something you wanted to tell me. Is everything alright?" She stood up from my chair and walked towards me. My breath got caught in my throat and I could feel my face heating up.

"Uh yeah, everything's fine. I just have to find Cisco and tell him to stop meddling in my personal life." I shrugged

"What did you want to tell me?" She reached her hand out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me closer to her. My eyes went wide in surprise.

"I'm just scared of something at the moment. Nothing to worry about." I shrugged and gave her a small smile.

"You can tell me anything (Y/n) you know that right?" She pursed her lips together sadly.
"Do it!" I heard Harry and Barry's voices yell over the intercom

"Not helping guys!" I yelled

"What're they talking about (Y/n)?" She asked. Without answering I pressed my lips to hers, taking her by surprise. She smiled into the kiss and pulled me closer. When our lips finally parted I laid my forehead against hers and we smiled.

"Was that what you wanted to tell me?" She whispered. I shook my head slightly

"I think I'm in love with you." I muttered  "and I'm terrified" I looked her in the eyes and she smiled slightly. She looked down and moved her hand from my wrist into my hand and held my other hand in her free hand.

"They say if you're terrified to do something, you should probably do it." She smiled

"Well I was terrified to kiss you." I chuckled

"And I'm so glad you did it." She gave me a quick peck on the lips.
