Juliet's POV
Eleanor's friends turned out to be really cool, and I was glad they let me come listen to their band. They were also all nice, and I approved of them. We stayed a little while after but soon decided it was probably time to head home.
We were walking side by side, and the sun was just setting. I turned to her and asked, "so you said yes, then?"
"What?" Eleanor replied, trying to act confused.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh come on. I know Jack asked you out. Alex told me."
"Oh."
She fell silent. "Well?" I pressed.
"Yeah, I said yes," she said, a huge grin spreading across her face.
"That's so great! It's about time you manned up and said yes for once," I joked.
She elbowed me gently. "Hey now, don't judge me. I've just been waiting for the right guy."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Maybe Jack will be the right guy."
She chuckled, changing the subject. "So what did you think of them then?"
"They were cool," I said. "Alex is nice."
"Interesting." we walked up her driveway and in through the front door.
"What? What's interesting?"
"Nothing, nevermind," she sighed plopping down on her bed.
"Eleanor."
"Juliet."
"Well you can't do this to me! Now I want to know!"
"What else did you think of Alex?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't really talk to him that much. He's cute, I guess...."
She stared at me. "Don't give me that. He's not just cute, he's really cute. Even I can see that."
"Yeah, but so what?"
"Nevermind," she said. "Want to watch a movie?" I nodded, and we got up and went downstairs to find something to watch.
