And then he said his final goodbye.
His thirty year old son was out the door after visiting for the day with his two children.
This was the first time he'd seen him since the sons mother died. In a car accident which he had survived.
This was the first time he saw his grandchildren.
He'd known for a while now his life was over.
But after his son left, and after he'd seen his only two grandchildren, he thought about his life.
He thought about how long it was and how much he regretted.
He also thought about everything he'd tried to fix.
And this was the last mistake he had to correct.
It's long past time for him to die.
That night he overdosed on his medicine.
That night he died.
