Ophelia woke up the next morning groggy and sore. She sat up and yawned. She unwound the bandage on her leg and saw that it was nearly healed. She debated on whether she should go to school or not but decided against it since she was still fairly sore. She needed to see about fixing her car anyways.
The rays of sun gleamed through the sheer black curtains that were surrounded by Polaroid covered walls, plastered with band posters and dumb sayings. Her room was her happy place her sanctuary. She spent long periods of time there usually to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world.
She slowly stood up from her bed trying to ignore how light-headed she felt. She limped to the bathroom and look at herself in the mirror. She looked like she had been hit by a bus, which, she basically had been.
She undressed and got into the shower letting the scalding water wash away the pain of yesterday. She looked down at the dried blood washing off of her and slipping down the drain. She sighed and quickly washed her long brown hair and her body. After she dried off and tried to make herself look somewhat presentable, she threw on a part of black leather skinny jeans and a blood red tank top and walked out of her room, secretly hoping Kai was still sleeping.
"How do you feel?" She heard his voice travel from the kitchen. She sighed and knew her wish had not been granted this morning.
She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a banana from off the counter.
"Fine, just a little sore." She focused on peeling the banana, hoping he only was going to ask her about her health this morning.
"Do you want a ride to the car place?" He asked politely, and Ophelia started to think that maybe he decided to put the events from yesterday behind him. She perked up.
"Sure." She smiled. She was hoping to get her car fixed soon or at least find out if there was no hope and if she needed to buy a new car. Her mustang had been towed to a local car mechanic after the accident and she needed to meet the head mechanic to see what was going on with it.
She finished her banana and threw the rest away. Her and Kai got into his car and they took off down the street. He let her choose the radio station which was very odd considering he never let her touch the radio.
"So." He said nonchalantly. Ophelia ignored him hoping he would not bring it up again.
"You don't have to tell me her name." He said nonchalantly.
"Thank yo-" He interrupted her.
"Because I'm just going to find out for myself."
Ophelia pinched the bridge of her nose and tried to breath to calm down. She had a bit of a temper and didn't like taking it out on Kai.
"And how exactly do you plan on doing that Kai." She said frustrated.
"I'm going to summon her." He stated simply. He swerved slightly to avoid hitting a cat that was crossing the street.
"You can't do that. I mean you can but I won't allow you." Ophelia said, irritated.
"You're not my mom. I want to see the girl who saved my life and thank her personally, face to face."
We pulled up to the car place, and i quickly got out of his car, slamming the car door behind me. He was quick to jump out of the car as well and was right by my side in an instant.
"I'm going to do it Ophelia." He pushed on.
"Can we just drop this. I'm kind of needing to deal with my car right now." Ophelia walked
quickly ahead of him, nearly running, even though she felt her entire leg burning like hell.
Ophelia spoke with the mechanic about what needed to be done to her poor totaled baby. The mechanic told her that since it was only the front end of the car, he believed he could definitely fix it and that she most likely would not have to buy an entirely new car but that it would take him about two to three weeks to order the parts and get it back to her. She thanked him and got back into the car without saying a word to Kai.
They drove home in complete silence.
When they arrived home, it wasn't Ophelia who went straight to her room, it was Kai. And that's where he stayed for the rest of the day.
