"Hey, babe?" Peeta asks me.

"Yeah?"

"Do you happen to know what gender the baby is?" He puts his paints down.

"No, not yet," I say.

"Okay," He walks out of the room.

I hope he's not mad at me. I don't see any reason why he'd be though. I sigh and place the letter in my boot into the dresser.

Peeta comes back up with another letter in his hand, "It's for you."

I take it from his hands and open it. It said the baby would be a girl.

As I look up from the letter I'm reading, I see Peeta reading the letter on the dresser.

"Peeta I-"

He interrupts me, "Katniss you need to stop her."

"No, no I was going to say something-"

"Katniss, please. It can wait until later. It's probably not that important either," He says.

I feel anger rush up my back, and I storm out of the room. He doesn't even care about his child.

About two hours later Peeta comes to the spot where I am, which is the hanging tree.

"Katniss, I've been looking for you. Where've you been, sweetie?" He asks.

I look down, almost in tears. He sits next to me, and brushes the hair off my face.

       "Kat, what's wrong?"

        "You don't care," I whisper.

        "What?" He asks.

"You told me our child wasn't important! You expect me to stay in the house when you don't care about your daughter?!" I scream in tears.

Peeta looks at me in shock. "Katniss I'm so sorry I didn't-"

          "I'm sorry," I say quietly.

          "Katniss," he says

          "What?" I ask.

"Maybe I should leave you," he says calmly.

         "What? No I love you,"

"I'll end up hurting you anyway," he looks at me sadly.

I hug him tightly. "I love you, Peeta," I whisper.
