He cries silently as I speak 'I love you' into his ear. He can't leave me. I don't want him too.

"Katniss I don't want to leave you, but I have to. I don't want to hurt you, and I will. I love you so much," he said.

"Are you leaving because everyone says that if you really love somebody, you have to set them free?" I ask, holding back my tears.

He nods, "And if they really  love you, They'll come back."

"I'll miss you so much, lover boy," I say now that my tears have found a way out of my eyes.

"And I'll miss you, girl on fire," He kisses my cheek.

I can't help but start crying hard, falling into Peeta's arms. It's like saying he's gone. Forever. And he's not coming back.

"You love me, Katniss. Real or not real?"

        "Real," I whisper.

"Then you have to set me free," He strokes my hair.

"But then you won't come back and I'll be lonely forever. I can't- I just can't stand losing you, Peeta. You make me feel like a completely different person, and without you, I won't get through the night."

"Kat, I will come back," He picks me up and carries me home.

      "I'm sorry," I say.

He looks at me confused, "Sorry for what, baby?"

"For calling you a mutt. I'm sorry," I cry again.

I think he will come back, but I'm not sure. I know he loves me, and we're a happy couple now, I get that.  But it still hurts.
